Ok now let's look at this again was the biker speeding that the car driver misjudged the speed was the sun behind the rider so the glare stopped the car driver from seeing him there's a million possibilities but if I was that rider I would of made some attempt to avoid it as I would of seen the danger coming I would of covered my brakes ready to anchor on So I await my slagging off now Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
There is a reason why accident investigation is an occupation. The skills involved are detailed and in-depth. I was really impressed with robj's analysis and will take some of it with me when riding. Truth is, car drivers are looking for cars or bigger so it's safe to assume that they're all out to kill us! Yes, no er maybe !
i find car drivers actually look for gaps in traffic rather than looking at vehicles themselves. thats why they often try to get into the gaps that we're occupying. imo riding like your invisible is the only real way to keep on top of it all. especially in city riding. if they look like they havent seen you - they havent, if they look like they have- they havent, and finally if theyre waving at you or something else similar -they havent seen you...theyre waving at someone behind.
I didnt say that "you" were pathetic but that labelling someone involved in an accident a BITCH when you know none of the facts was just pointless.
As a rule residential areas are 20mph covering brakes called me shit scared of cars but they hurt us and our loved ones and ive said it before im a traffic management op and i see it all the time e.g i drive crash cushions and when im putting lane restrictions on i have a 6 ft blue arrow pointing to the direction they need to pass along with a 12ft flashing arrow with stobes and flashing beacons and i kid you not i get people behind me beeping the roads are crazy and there getting crazier
Sometimes you just can't avoid it. In my accident I saw the car and covered my brakes, but he shot out at the last moment and next thing I'm somersaulting over a car. I view it as just one of those things, doesn't mean the driver isn't to blame though
My analysis is from what I've been taught over the years (lots of your taxes have been spent on my training) and it's what I try and pass on doing IAM training (putting a bit back from what's been spent on me!) The thought processes and training to think like that are what the IAM course is about. If you want more info on doing an IAM course, give me or Dave a PM.
