I am going to be putting some money into the bike in the form of parts.

I have read that it is quite common to change the OEM headers of the 750 for the Titanium headers of the GSX-R 1000 headers (K4) plus I get a better range of exhaust :D

I dunno if it is but it seems like an idea. If I did this will I have to remap the bike which means putting a power commander or can I remap the standard ECU and how much would it cost to have a power commander professionally mapped vs a standard ECU (Is the power commander worth the money)

And if I want to put a quick shiftier on do I have to buy more power commander bits

Suspension wise would it be worth the money to buy after market shocks or get it re valved and set for me and my riding

Brakes i'll be putting some braided lines on it maybe come Easter or in summer with fresh fluid (obviously) along with decent pads and might look into a brembo master cylinder

Any other mods people can think of let me know

    All opinions welcome :D

Merry Christmas and a happy new year

I would go the kais in athertonto sort out the suspension, as for the other bits I would guess you need a power commander (not sure you can re-map a factory ecu)

Sounds good tho.. I would like to do some mods to z1000 but needs deep pockets, haha

you certinally cant remap your std ECU , a power commander 111 is what you need, to this you can add an air shifter.....its not really a "top mod" though, id would think you would be better of spending on suspension and brakes... if you can afford a rear shock get an Ohlins TTx on and set up , in the front pop some Ohlins springs...Kais will sort that easy enough. as per Rob cheapest option would be for them to just tweak your settings on what you have now.

The power commander is easy to set up. connect to the bike via a simple set of instruction. plug the lead into the USB on a laptop. download a map to what your running on the bike , exhaust , airfilter etc... and its sorted... pretty much one of the best mods you will make to have the bike running smooth

Brakes are another great mod. a Brembo radial master cylinder, attached to some nice strong braided lines, will have ferocious stopping power

Thanks but I think the throttle is spot on for now just need to dial out the play and the bike currently has a K&N air filter in it but thanks again

So a power commander is a good choice its trying to convince my dad of that he is convinced I want it for more power
Shocks don't think I could afford an ohlins any time soon but ill look into a rear shock and the springs in the front shouldn't be to pricey lol but for now I will just have it set up. For some reason though it really hard to find suspension upgrades for my bike from the likes of K-tech which I thought is strange because the older the bike the more mods available but apparently not.

The braided lines are a given mod and will be ordered closer to the time of having them fitted as well as some EBC HH pads
Ill have a look at the brembo master cylinders

This is being done over time not like I have recently come into money lol my recent Christmas pennies and lack of bike to play on have driven me to find new avenues or entertaining myself and this is it lol

Also is £195 a good price for a PCIII second hand with all cables instructions etc

What ya mean jammy bastard you have a BMW HP4 !!!!!! only jammy one around here is you lol

your dads talking sense...you dont need more power... a power commander , the name is misleading, will smooth out all the fuel glitches on the machine, and will have it running smoother. esp if you have a can on , as this will have the engine running lean... best mods on any bike in my opinion are handling and Brakes ...they have too much power to begin with so dont even think about high lift cams . light weight cranks , big bore kits etc etc .

If and ONLY if you need more power , its cheaper to sell and buy a litre... say hi to your dad ..sensible man .....and thats from me with 197bhp and 200 mph at the twist of my wrist ...

I try and explain that and he's like then why is it called power commander for blah blah
I know I don't need more power I am the first to admit it and will preach I don't need more power ATM :p
Yh handling is high on the list along with brakes
I just really want these headers and a can I have my on that is going cheap and they can wait until I get a power commander to be put on the bike

Any idea how much it would cost to have some one map the power commander for me ?

You should be able to map a power commander yourself ,,,,it's dead straight forward. The PC is a little black box , it has a lead and a USB Lead, connect this to your laptop , then go to the PC website , bring up your bike maps , one of them will be like , Remus can and std air filter , or arrow can , K and N filter etc, just find the right map, push send and it's stored on your PCiii. Install to bike and your good to go. Dead easy ......

Anno but I am going to be putting GSXR 1000 headers on the bike and I don't know if it will increase the gas flow plus a possible 2012 akro superbike can

    Ive got to ask.
How many of these mods are actually needed?
Why do you need new headers?
How can that give you a better range of cans to pick from when you need a link pipe fabricating?
Are you that good a rider you need better suspension?
If you cant set up the original items how can you have any idea how good they are?
Are the std brakes that shit?
Quickshifter? Are you on the track regular?

Mostly seems to be a waste of money on what is already a great bike.

If its just for bling and bragging then fair enough.

For all the piss taking this is where the ktm shines.
    Suspension - top quality wp.
Brakes - brembo please. Braided lines as std.
And no need for a power commander. The ecu is reprogrammable.
