yeh crackin day out. was near 300 miles by the time i got in. dunno why but i felt like it wsnt enough lol. nice pace and some top roads, some of em ive not ridden for years so really enjoyed the route daz, cheers a few close calls due to idiot car drivers, one making a u turn in front of us while we were (ahem) making progress, nearly took out me digger and goody. and a dodgy left hander from me when daz & rich braked hard mid corner as i was leaned right over... had to stand it up a bit and take the corner wide, much to the surprise of an oncoming gs rider lol the vid shoud be interesting lol! anyone know how dave got on with his holed rad??? damn shame he missed a good ride! dunno where the others got to at llanberis??? im on call next weekend so doubt i'll be out - or if i do i wont be going more than half hr from home just in case

Looking at doing a FULL day out through north Yorks and Cumbria next Sunday Keep an eye on the weather
Got it off easy enough, only took an hour, just got to get it welded this week and get a rad guard fitted, gona see if I can find that stuff you were on about at b&q. Soz to you guys but thanks for waiting....
No problems Dave was just gutted for ya, we couldnt just f*ck off and leave you as it wasnt a top gear challenge :lmfao:
this stuff http://www.diy.com/n...8?skuId=9293888 it's down the hardware aisle theres loads of different patterns. colours and sizes of plate. the gold stuff looks nice against the black imo. easy enough to cut with scissors and should stop it happening again. they do steel mesh as well but that would be harder to cut.. might need some tinsnips or sumat. http://www.diy.com/n...4175?icamp=recs i used the ally on my firestorm to make a gauze panel at the front of the belly pan to protect the oil filter and its bob on. make a template first with card or summat and cut the plate a bit bigger than you need so you can fold the edges over so it clips in place. a'la blue peter.
yeah was terrible having to wait...not as though they had nice hot chocolate and chocolate cake to eat is it weldable then?
Sounds good Chris then those who don't always have a full day to play can peel off. I prefer an early start to lunchtime when the traffic's got mad. Dave, was the holed rad an existing fault?
we went over a section of road over denbigh tops with a lot of loose stones... i backed right off cos i was getting peppered off the bikes in front. daz noticed steam coming off daves bike and when we stoped it was spraying out all over the front tyre and right disc :O couldve been very nasty that :S tthere were a load of little dents in the rad. one stone had punctured it and there was another one stuck right in. bit sh*t that they dont fit a guard as standard really on such a vulnerable part. needs a guard in front and possibly a fender extender to deflect crap thrown off the tyre. same as on my storm, although the rads are on the side on the vtr's, the oil filter is right in the line of fire - sorted by fitting a gauze guard and a cut-down coke can over the oil filter. if that goes in the middle of nowhere you're fkt. just lucky he had a fone signal and recovery or it wouldve been a long walk to civilization!
Dave mate i have a small sheet of patterend metal i think that would make a great rad cover...........i think its stainles i will check then i get home pot a pic if you want it its yours
No Jim, actually we stopped about every half hour... Daz would hop over a wall and come back with a smile on his face. Must have been pleased with the weather or something?
