Dean's crash aside, it was perfect weather and a great run, with a comedy navigation blunder by Kel landed her and Alex back in Windermere when the rest of us had just arrived 25 miles in the other direction in Keswick, forcing a route rethink.

After Dean's bike was picked up, Kel and Bart's Dad headed back whilst Alex, Jack and myself headed up the Kirkstone and then back down the A6 via Penrith through Shap and down to Caton. A little mish over the Trough of Bowland then motorway home. About 220 miles all in Preston and back. Just got back at around 7pm.

Wasn't caning it too hard most of time mate - bumpy unfamiliar country roads and rock hard suspension can be a recipe for disaster unless you're careful.

You were fair going some on that Versys though - awesome riding
