he will be out of it for some time, i was out of it for about a week wen i got run over aged 19 after 5 ops!
hope all goes well tmoz for him, top lad!

Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts. Ben is asleep right now. He is shattered. They wake him up every half hour for obs and injections to prevent meningitis.

His op tommorrow has some risks and is quite complex but the surgeons are confident and a little excited due to how unusual a case he is. He will be very metallic after and have a wopping scar from ear to ear. We are going to request the xrays and surgical pictures on disk after as he is interested to see his insides We are optimistic it will be a further week recovery then he may be transferred back up north.

He is very greatful to everyone for all the support no matter how small. I'm lucky to have some good friends down here who are putting me and his mum up.

Ben has been doing zombie impressions and giving the nurses cheek and iks in good positive spirits. I'm running on fumes but happy that he is still with us.

Hi all, ive had my surgery done and it went pretty much as they wanted it! I am currently on high monitoring ward to ensure i always have a nurse keeping an eye on me.

They have put many plates and screws in my face to hold it all together and the brain surgeons successfully managed to remove the roque bits of bone that got shatterred into there. I still need some work to get my jaw into alignment and im still missing teeth etc but all them things are expected. They have pinned my jaw shut to help it get into place, which makes eating/drinking/talking/anything a nightmare, but as wisely pointed out - this is much better than not being alive!

I still have a drain coming from my brain to remove any excess liquids that it makes it its own little attempt to stay healthy, but hopefully this should be removed tomorrow (the final drain!). They expect i'll be kept here until about the end of the week and i may get transferred off then! (Depends on he discussions of all the surgeons as they all have different interests in me so best not to get my hopes up).

I have attached the facial surgeons diagram that he drew to explain where he was putting the plates (prior to this post) and also an image of me after the surgery.

I should also be getting the photo's from during the operation (with my skull off etc!) and also the before and after x-rays from my operation - keep tuned for those!

I am in quite alot of pain but morphine and codine combined is a good mix!

They expect about 2 months before im ok, but im just happy to be on the mend. Going to buy a a new lid for the motorbike as it definately needs the best protection possible now! Cant wait to get back on the R6....also cant wait to just do normal things like eating and talking properly and basically just normal life. A massive thanks to everyone that has helped out during this time, and MUCH love to carrie and my family for being there for me.

Ask them to increase the dose on your meds don't be brave

I know a liquid diet is a pain but you will be back on solids in no time , It sounds like you are making really good progress so for now just take it easy and enjoy the attention
