Hi guys, Little into to the bike... Bene riding Hyosungs for around 4 years now, had 2 of the same bike (long story) so i know this bike inside out This bike was bought 2 years ago with the intensions of doing it up abit, spending abit of money and making it fancy. I have my reasons for riding a small bike, (mainly running costs, insurance costs etc...) as im now funding a house and a car! But i still want to keep riding! 12 months ago the bike fell of its side stand ruining my custom white paintjob (not a happy bunny) and breaking a clip-on... so i required another paintjob to get her looking right again. After being fussy about what paint to go for (wanted something exciting)... i ended up seeing a paint colour i really liked, which happened to be the most expensive bloody paint they did! By boss (legend) decided to pay for the paintjob for me as he was feeling sorry for me being off the road Ended up with an 'Ice Pearl' over a candy white paintjob, its amazing, only problem is that i needed to import the paint as nobody had it in stock, this stuff is House of color from usa! After the paint was done, i realised it was MOT time too, so i started to check over the main areas that needing seeing too... Hyosung's are great bike, but they do have a couple of downsides... Exhaust and brakes! This is what happens to standard downpipes after around 18 months of normal riding Rusted right the way through and generally knackered so time for a new exhaust system. I was running the standard downpipes with a carbon fibre Yoshimura Tri-Oval can, the can never really fitted well and was looking a little tired, so off came the pipes and off came the can. Sold the can on ebay and decided to go for a full stainless system as i didnt want another set of OEM downpipes. After some careful consideration... i went all out again and bought this Twin stainless exhaust system with 2 x GP style carbon cans with no cat This new exhaust wasnt plain sailing as i spend 4 months in discussions with the manufacturer as the system just wouldnt fit on got there in the end though. Also replaced my rear caliper which had started to leak, and upgraded my seized rear master cylinder with a Nissin master cylinder from a kwak Many more upgrades and a new sticker job later... and this is how the bike currently stands! I made the stickers / rimtape myself
That's looking smart mate, I love the colour combo. The Lucky Strike decal looks spot on and compliments the bike well. So you've still got your cutter then?
Erm... ended up with 2 of them oddly enough, some local guy was advertising a cutter for £25 'spares or repairs' so i bought it thinking it was cheap for spares for my cutter as it was the same brand.... Turns out the guy just didnt know how to install it lol, +1 for me and i now have 2 cutters lol
Yups its a 125 Yeah i did have a custom rear light/tail end But the LED lights ended up getting wet/corroding, forked out for replacement ones and they rusted too Manufacturer wanted £100+ just for the LED's even though they are poorly made!! Undertray cost me about £200. Just gave up in the end and popped this on til MOT is done, might make something up again once im MOT'd
gorgeous looking bike that m8 & the hyosungs are basically suzukis so are pretty reliable despite all the bad press you obviously love it to bits... i like it. oh ffs im even sounding like louey walsh now :/
Thanks guys Think this is the first forum ive posted on and not been slated for enjoying and modding my 125. Seems most people disagree with modding 125's unless its an RS or a Mito...
Tbh I think 125's are possiably the best sized bike. You can have massive amounts of fun on them and yet still not get a speeding ticket!! That paint is bloody dream mate spot on! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cheers dude, yeah 125s are tons of fun, not sure about the 'not worry about a speeding ticket' thing as mine will break any uk speed limit by a good few mph But yes you get all the fun of normal day to day biking without all the running costs, which suits me at the moment Insurance renewal on the bike is £102 this year and thats on a CBT with full car license lol, and the tax has gone up to £16!! how dare they And i get around 120mpg, £14 fills it and lasts 3 weeks
Had my seats re-trimmed last week, top job in black and white leather with 'Lucky Strike' stitching to the back seat. Looks ace now, the old cover was coming apart, this worked out cheaper than new seats or a cowl (and the Hyosung cowl is ugly). Just needs caliper on then its MOT time!
