Re: Isle Of Man 2011 Which side of the water will you be on Hi Tom, All booked, staying in Kirk Michael. There was some cheap rooms available in the Glen Helen Inn last time I checked - Might be worth a call, great place to watch as well. Cliff

Re: Isle Of Man 2011 Which side of the water will you be on What dates are you looking at? I know a few that are interested in coming.
Re: Isle Of Man 2011 Which side of the water will you be on again, in my quest for an Ironman medal the TT will have to wait another year.
Re: Isle Of Man 2011 Which side of the water will you be on I'll be there, hotel & ferry has been booked since June, I find you have to book a year in advance to get decent accommodation !! Going Friday 3rd & coming back 11th June & staying in Douglas
was just looking at the dates and my shifts never been before so if any one can give me some advice extremely grateful. in is it better to go at the start or the end? were is the best place to stay? thanks
Taking the car with the trailer & tent so i have everything for the week, Kev & Joe coming with me I think, possibly a few others, gonna try to get on the paddock campsite failing that next door at the rugby club.
It is busy during race week, if you don’t mind that then it's a fab time, if you want some of the atmosphere with a slightly less busier island then I’d recommend going during practice week. Accommodation is personal preference, I’ve only ever stayed in Douglas & can recommend that, however places to stay get booked up well in advance if you want an actual bed. If you don’t mind camping, there are loads of places to stay around the course, or there’s homestays which are a good deal. Closer to the time you can download a timetable of things to see & do during the 2 weeks & plan things for when the racings not on, there’s loads to do, the beach racing at Peel is always a good night, Ramsey Sprint but one thing you have to do is have at least 1 evening in Bushy's Beer Tent
and if that's too lively for you i recommend the week after the TT when the crown green bowls tournament starts lol
Speaking to Tom (Gixxer-Tom) today, we fancy going over for the TT but for 4 days max. Can anyone shed some light on the costs of the ferry, best places to stay, best places to view and best night time locations. Cheers, looking forward to the info.
Hiya, Depends what you want really, but if you want a lively atmosphere stay in Douglas, rooms book up very fast but you can always get a campsite. Same with the night, Douglas is the liveliest, Bushys have a beer tent at the end of the prom with live bands, a fair and usually a stunt show on the road outside. Everyone has their favourite places to watch, but you can try: The Grandstand, (they charge,) Bray Hill, Quarterbridge, Bradon Bridge, Baggarrow crossroards, Douglas road corner in Kirk Michael, Ginger Hall pub, Glen Helen, Balaugh Bridge, Sulby straight or crossroads, the wildlife centre at Quarry Bends, Parliament Square in Ramsey, The Gooseneck, ANY point on the mountain, Creg-Ne-Baa grandstand, (they charge,) Hillbury, Governors Bridge or ANY spot that takes your fancy when you do a lap, you will be spoiled for choice! Make sure you take or buy an AM radio so that you can hear the race commentary, (it's not on FM all over the island.) That was the good news..... Maybe it's best if you check the ferry prices yourself
