If you do go to Ellis Brighams ask for Brian Molyneux, let him know what you're doing and he should sort you out a discount on stuff, he's a good bloke and a proper boot fitter so can do proper insoles and stuff. There's also Cotswold on Church Street, they have a lot of goos boots in there.
check out Adapt out doors and black in town as well, I did Pico Austria (5270) in Saloman walking boots but it all depends on the terrain can't go wrong with a pair of them though had them 3/4 years they have been up everything never let water in perfect for me but you might need something like Scarpa mountaineering boots more expensive but are made for mountaineering.
