If you have ever wondered why people go on about the roads to Hawes, have a look at this video and join in on the next ride out in that direction http://youtu.be/-UT3RHR2w3A
Yeah to me who had never ridden it before it was; blind crest; blind bend, blind crest, blind bend, pothole, nice corner, blind crest. Still fun though
If you want another good Dales road, head north from Devils skip Sedburgh and go up Kirby Stephen, Brough, across the moors to Middleton in Teesdale, awesome bit of road up to Alston, then a bit more onto Hartside Cafe... Then a bimble back down through the lakes... I'll sort it for a nice sunny day... And if people are wanting a good long day then Kielder is achievable (from Preston ), but you can't be doing much stopping and its best to throw in a bit of motorway to get it done...
some old vids from the same area (legal speeds) on a lovely sunny day - see if you recognise anyone! *no laws wer broken in the making of these vids! *note - the cam is on the right hand side of the bike, so some of the close ones are not actually that close lol - looks hairy though! unfortunately someone binned on this one, but not badly https://vimeo.com/26889435 some good jumps on this one https://vimeo.com/26888847 bentham - long vid, but some awesome bits of road. one of my favourite routes, goes near enough from lancaster to settle. *2nd thoughts, that one's by pm only
read as Jump, schhhhhh, Jump, schhhhhh, ooooft, schhhhhh, jump just be careful if you dont know the road well as right after some jumps are very sharp turns / bridges etc! can very easily catch you out in fact in the last vid there's a highly amusing bit where someone didnt know there was a jump ahead and got flat nads .
The camera stores two files, that one was 500 mb. The other was over 2gb so I uploaded the smaller one
Martin, that first vid was Hawes to Sedbergh, we did that route then to Devils Bridge. And yeah, cracking road
