You need to have proper gear at Oulton ie zip all way round leathers or one piece but been told at 3 sisters can were any gear

thats true. imo three sisters would be a better choice for th size of your bike. its cheaper to do too. as its a small track youll be at lower speeds so if you did come off hopefully the damage would be less and you wouldn't be pushing the bike to its limits. whatever you choose to do, take it easy. dont get drawn into keeping up with others. take it slow and focus on your technique rather than how fast you can get round.

Start at Three Sisters... Have a few goes round, its only £10 for 10 laps... if you like it and think your fast enough book into a novice day at Oulton Park... get yourself some cheap plastics, crash bungs, maybe engine bars and that will prevent a lot of damage should you come off :)

il tell you my suggestion, now Iv not been riding long so im no guru, find cabernet(kevs) post about cornering(abandoning the vantage point) read it, read it again and keep trying to live by it. my trouble is i keep taking the racing line............that is starting out wide and apexing..........on the xj i was comfortable with the advanced line but iv been off two wheels for 18month, but twice iv been behind you now and your problem is your not even out wide and apexing...........your in the racing line before you tip in, now im not the guy to give you advice you need someone like kev who rides smooth as a babies arse, and has some knowledge to pass on.

track days are fun and they will teach you what your bike will do but the road is an entirely different set of hazzard

oh yeah and you look gay aswell

My advice, do Ron Haslam's race school... Will cost you a bit more but firstly your using their bike, and more importantly i think you'll enjoy it more and learn more...

just get on the thing and ride it. Oultons fine mate, i took a 6month old GSXR round Oulton in the novice group. Just ride your own ride, its not a race, don't get sucked in . You'll be fine pal. I rode there, folded the mirrors in, went out on track and had a ball.

Just borrow Lefty's. He doesn't like his GSXR and is pining to get a ZX6R again. You'd do him a favour if you binned it.

I think you'll be okay, i mean, the only time you're fast is in a straight line so coming off at 5 mph while going into a corner isn't going to do much damage to your bike.

If you do book to go on at Oulton, you can pay a bit extra and go round with an instructor and he'll certainly point you in the right direction. Good tuition can never be underestimated if you want to learn properly mate.

I'm in the same boat mate. I'm goin to 3 sis on Tuesday if u want to pop up. I have done a track day at silvestone and I can tell u, u will run out of talent before the bike. U have to relax and pushing ur bike helps u with that. My old rubber had the chicken strips on the tire wall... If u want to pop up introduce ya self to me and I'll happily give u advice and help. I'm no Rossi like but I can tell u how u ride
