so I fancy trying out shorty levers... they dont make them for the mt03 but it shares its braking system with the fz6 etc so im thinking those will fit but not 100% sure.
I therefore dont wanna splash out on pazzo's /asv to have them sit on a shelf looking pretty so looking for a pretty cheap set just to try for size and see if I like shortys before I think about taking the plunge or sticking with stock.

anybody have any lying around / anybody recommend a seller for cheap-ish ones that wont have the strength of cardboard? not expecting super quality for a cheap price, but if im trying them out for a few rides to see if I like them short, i dont fancy having some that'll disintegrate at anything over a gentle tickle.

    cheers guys

I don't think so. To my limited knowledge they're bike specific. Although I could be wrong

they could well be...changing bits out is completely new to me. im just going from the fact the sites seem to name what bikes they will fit on etc.

I think your having problem finding them because they are odd levers, I believe the clutch is from a TZR 50 and the brake from a FZ6

Just out of interest, what do you hope to gain from shorty levers?

adjustability of the reach of the cluch lever mainly, and shortys over standard purely for aesthetics.

In my opinion short shift.start hurting after 5 hours maybe because I have arthritis but standard are great

I am with Smudger for once.
You will suffer less fatigue with full length levers. I know you are up for a long ride, but I think you will feel it with shorties.
I also doubt you get the finesse of control with shorties.
To ride a bike (or drive a car) smoothly and progressively you need the foot work of a ballerina and the hands of midwife. I can't see how shorties will help.

thats a great point and exactly why I wish to try them before I splash out. I dont think i will have too much of an issue with the fatigue - the majority of my braking is done with engine braking and most of the the time I shift up clutchless. I only use the clutch for downshifts, going up from 1st to 2nd and low speed city riding.
on the mt03 the power band is quite similar throughout the rev range but primarily down low, so im in third (or fourth depending on the flow of the road) with only the occasional change throughout twisty sections using the whole rev range and low down torque to pull me out of corners rather than having to work the box like on a il4 etc to keep it in a sweet spot.

if I had a screamer of an engine I wouldn't doubt for a second thst it would get tiresome.
