I think I would be looking for a grinding bit to go in a drill. Then relieve the wall thickness of the outer race at 1200 and 0300. Then drive a wedge at 0100 to collapse the bearing in.
Of course, if you knew someone with a milling machine . . . .

I've just had a good look at your picture and I'm guessing it's not an electrical fault.
I'm pretty sure your tank has fallen off causing lack of petrol to the engine.
If you need any further help, just let me know ;-)

got a text from my dad while i was in work saying my uncle got the outer race out. apparently he was a bike mechanic for years, popped round while he was bored and got it out in about 5 minutes... having an ex-bike mechanic in the family would have been useful information about 4 years ago before i started breaking everything ive touched! haha.

    Winner!
    Here is anothet top tip.
Dont rush to rebuild it all.
Just go methodically and take your time.
    Unlike me.
Rebuilt the back wheel. And just as I was fitting it to the bike noticed the spacer tube that is supposed to go between the bearings was still on the bench....... doh!

low and behold, i arrive home and my dad, being in a tinkering mood after seeing my uncle remove it, took it upon himself to fit the new bearing... without the spacer haha :bang:.

removed it, spacer in, and refitted in 2 minutes. so much easier with an intact bearing!

You wouldn't be the first or the last of us to forget a spacer between bearings. Been there, done that, mopped off the grease with the T shirt.
Stuck races / dificult locations. I know some people will weld a bar across to drive against, especially with head races. Someone I knew used to do head races and shafty swing-arm taper rollers with a welder. Cleaned up thoroughly, then ran a quick bead of weld (MIG I believe for speed and ease) round the race surface. The heat causes the whole thing to expand, but the weld cools and pulls the race in to create clearance and the race will sometimes drop out. Said it is particularly useful on shafty swing arms where there isn't cearance to get a puller behind the race (Guzzis, old aircooled BMW, etc).
