Don't listen to the nay sayers. A bit of duct tape and that'll come up trumps.

Have you got lost? I thought you was changing the front sprocket.

Haha waiting for the bearing and 32mm socket to arrive before I can carry on with the mt. Hopefully that's soon cos I've no idea how long this will take to fix. The Lights on my cbf failed on the way home last night and it ain't the fuses or bulbs so I'm making my way around the loom looking for dodgy wires or connectors.

Out of interest, which bearing is that?

left hand rear. i probably broke it while removing the axle or something, i dunno . although the rear hadnt been turning as smoothly for a while, but i put that down to worn cush drive rubbers and needing a new chain.

inb4 "stop fiddling with your bike, cos you brake it every time you touch it" haha

    Ha ha.
Did you get the front sprocket off ok?

Not tried it yet. Waiting for the hex socket to arrive rather than using the shitty one I've already got. I'll be sure to post up a help thread when I fuck it up so you can laugh. Dont you worry haha

Thing is you will need to re-fit the rear wheel to get the front sprocket off. Kind of arse about face way of doing it!

i had some spare time so thought i may as well whip it off while i was waiting. bearing should arrive about the same time as the socked and hopefully will be a reasonably easy job to relace so shouldnt delay me taking the front sprocket off too much, if at all.

Suppose it was actually a good idea really. Saved time waiting for the bearings.
Not sure where you got them from but when I did the cbr I bought the three bearings and two dust seals off ebay separately.
Got better quality bearings and was a third of the cost of buying a kit for it.

hummm... sounds expensive lol. ive not had any running problems at all, and battery is still fine so im hoping its not the stator.
it all started off by being slightly tempromental after it slid down the road the other week, hence me thinking its just something loose somewhere. its only effecting the running light, headlight and tail light. everything else works perfect so i think ive found what wire i need to be looking at with the use of a wiring diagram and im gonna give that a go tomorow morning if i get chance.
if that doesnt yeild a result im going to bypass the relevant wires in the reg/rec with ignition on, engine off and if the running light comes on, then that must be the issue if im thinking rightly. and if that doesnt work, im going to give up and try to change it to a normal DC circuit running the lights, to remove the issue all together.

ive never fiddled with electrics before, so if i dont post for a few days i may have electrocuted myself lol.

well ive fixed the CBF. no idea how i did it, but its working again so thats all that matters, so back to the MT.

the bearing is the first point of call, so im looking for any tips of how i can get the outside race out of the wheel. there is nothing i can get a grip on to drive it out from the other side and im not sure how i can pull it out. ive had a quick go of levering it out but it wont budge. should i buy a bearing puller or would that only work on a complete bearing?

if it wont work could anybody recommend a place i can take it to get it out relatively cheaply?

An internal puller will get it out. But a decent one is expensive.
I got one out with by hitting a steel shaft and my mate keeping it pressed against the outer race with a bar on the other side. Can be a right bastard though.

I thought as much :/. I'll give it another go during the week with a bit more force. Think I'm just not being forceful enough cos in worried ill crack the rim or something.
