I'm pretty sure it was the AA, they came and jumped my bike direct from the van whilst assuring me it was safe to do so ha! I'd heard stories before, but now i know its not the best idea.
Sounds about right. 24v from an AA truck battery ain't going to do your electrics any favours. The green flag FUBAR'd mine, nice 2ton straps to hold the bike down on a flatbed over the seat crushed the ECU under it shorting it out on nearly every circuit. Glad you're all sorted and for cheap
Oh poo. Will watch this in future. Sorry Pete. Ok, i've just done a full inspection of the battery, and stuff, Wd40'd and the oil top up. May not be a big thing to a lot of ppl, but this is my workhorse, so slowly slowly quickly catchy? Next Sunday, the chain tighten. Is this best with a center stand or one of those bike lift things? If a bike lift thing is needed, wheres the best place to get one and it's 125? Do they make one for such a small bore bike? I took my center stand off as it was warped, but have a replacement.
you will find this useful if your a novice. http://www.motorcycleaddiction.ca/how-to-adjust-chain-slack/ you can do it with the bike on the centre stand….but if you knackerd yours get some one to hold the bike while you adjust it , if you aint got a paddock stand
On an interesting note, i noticed that a lot of the Cbf electrics are stamped 'Ducati engineering'. I think that explains a lot!
If you are ever up my way you are welc if you are up my way at any point, given notice, you are more than welcome to use my centre lift and tools etc to sort your chain or whatever else. Give me a PM for details
