[EDIT]: just to point out i have not chased anyone the car had got held up in traffic anout 3miles from when i first saw him by wich time i had past the 4 vechials. Also this post was made in a very bad state both physically and mentally.

[Original] Right weather yesterday was lovely so decided to go for a bumble, so driving towards Macc on Chelford road I see a Silver Subaru Speeding like mad and taking ridiculous overtakes and endangering everyone that he passes. So i caught up with him when he got caught in traffic and had a look through the rear window to have a look who was inside and what the f*ck was going on.
The guy looked at me and then looked back down, his speed up a little and the looked back at me and tried to "stare me out" sort of thing before slaming on to a stop.
By the time i had relised he had stopped i was flying over his car after smashing into the back of the pretty Subaru Impretza.

Im lay on the ground screaming for my life and i just hear an almighty screach i look over and he's booted it and diissapeared!!! Fucking bellened!!!!!!!!

Witnesses pull over and assist with police ambulance etc
We were then told that the car that hit me had just 5 mins ago been stolen from down the road.
The police eventually find the car and the guy although he had ran off and hid.

He was well over the limit and an absolut fucking arse hole!

So bike/gear is a write off (as well as the subaru) and i have came off very very lightly with just a broken thumb and a massively brusied and painful back/leg.

Will be speaking to police today to give an official statement. They say the only thing that may cause problems is proving he was in the car but i have reassured them that i will remember that twats face and would be able to point him out.

So need new bike and helmet fairly quickly about £1.5k for the bike any ideas?

The insurence side of this is abit shite however I may claim off the owner of the car or through the MIB wich is a loooooooooong process.

Pic of bike taken by paramedic for me, Looks to be fairings, casings, tank, can, fender and all the usual bits too

With age comes experience and you'll soon learn just to leave idiots like that well alone.
We've all been in situations like this and best advice to give is pull over and let the idiots go while you calm down.

yeh sh*t luck m8. paul is right though... you see idiots on the road every ride, as you know by now.
best thing to do is put some distance between you & them, either by overtaking when its safe or by pulling over.
thank fk you're ok m8 and mrs wasnt on the back.
very often in situations like this the pillion comes off worse.

might do you a deal on the firestorm (and a lid!) if you fancy using this as an upgrade opportunity?
insurance probably isnt much different and better performance etc.... i need to make room for a new addition shortly ;)

good advice. feel sorry for you mate, but dont know what you hoped to achieve by following someone driving like that so closely.

hope you get sorted. im guessing the mib will be your best bet. cant see how the owner could be liable. speak to sorry mate as daz suggests and see what they suggest as best course of action.

    good luck elliott

I'd just like to point out I was a good 2 1/2 car lengths away when he slammed on and the skid marks are huge. I was being noise not trying to be some kind of spy.
I find it alittle upsetting that some of you guys are practically saying its my fault. f*ck me either your just grumpy bastards or you haven't read the post properly...

Get a grip fella and take on board what some of the more experienced riders are saying; the message is you're lucky to get away with your life. Next time just leave the idiots well alone. Lesson learnt me thinks?

elliott, if a car slams on and you hit it you are either too close or not paying attention (or both). a car as quick as a subaru can out-brake a bike easily. he just slams on and lets the abs sort it.
the fact it was a drunk prick who had stolen it is neither here nor there.

it seems clear the guy did try to make you hit him on purpose. but he shouldnt have been able to really? 2 1/2 car lengths distance but what speed were you doing?
unfortunatley i think you were drawn into being exactly where he wanted you (too close to stop when he planned to slam on).

hope your on the mend soon. sh*t situation you ended up in,

could end up one of them shared liability things this tbh.... be a fkin pain if it does.
no-one's having a pop at you elliot, just showing concern thats all, sh*t happens m8, it's happened to most of us.
easy to criticise after the event but spur of the moment, how many of us have revved up to shake a fist or punch a mirror.... all it takes is for an irate driver to twitch the wheel or slam on and you're off.
jees ive had loads of close ones meself.

regarding braking distances... most decent bikes with good tyres on dry roads will stop from 30mph in 30ft, but like you say. if a car does jam on deliberately, take off a 0.4second reaction time and you're close to a hit!
never actually backended a car meself on a bike but fk ive come close a few times and ended up sideways and stuff!

    chin up m8.

    My attitude?
Thing is you've caused an accident by ramming into the back of another car and you've admitted it on an open forum.

If you're gonna carry on like this you'll be getting no sympathy from anyone.
I suggest you take a deep breath and count to ten (or wait until your balls have dropped) before spouting your mouth off.

Think, look, listen has never been more appropriate.

true, but at 30 mph your doing 44ft/s. it actually takes more distance to react than stop. they reckon a 1sec average (44ft) plus about 30 ft braking. that gives about 75ft or an average of 6 car lengths.

I'm not little, I'm quite rotund! Ha ha ha
Tell ya what, come down to mmc and have a breakfast and tell me what a prick I am.

Tried to give you helpful advice about pulling over etc, but I can see you're not going to take anything onboard.

I'll say this once and once only. This is a forum for reasonable discussion, arguments and general malarky.

If you post on a public forum then you must accept that you might get replies that don't necessarily tell you what you want to hear.

If you're not prepared to accept other people replying differing opinions (so long as it's done politely) then you should reconsider whether you should post the topic in the first place.

Elliott - I know you're pissed and sore mate - and quite rightly so. By the sound of it you've been dealt a bum hand by a scrote who deserves debollocking with a rusty fork.

However, posts on here need to be with at least a modicum of respect for other members. Argue the toss all you like but respect that there are other membera on here, many of whom have more experience on bikes than either you or I.

So take constructive criticism where it's offered, mate, knowing that we're your friends and ultimately no-one wants or likes any other biker to get taken out.

To other people posting on here - give consideration to the fact that a fellow member has been hurt and has loat his bike. He's in pain, upset and angry and whilst what I've read on here is generally good criticism and commentary, please phrase your posts in a way which won't aggravate an already badly suffering fellow biker.

In summary peeps, chill the f**k out and remember that it takes very little effort to be nice where someone may be in a sh*t position and it makes a lot of difference. You may feel someone's been foolish or even inciteful, but take a deep breath and don't create animosity where it's not needed and not productive.

Elliott - I hope the hossy has given you some good pharmaceauticals for the pain mate to just get trolleyed and don't worry about the bike or leathers as it'll be at leaat 6 weeka before you can ride again :(

Peace out and calm down or I'll be forced to start hugging people (and I haven't had a shower yet today...)
