I go off the car side of the point you can see in the distance. Basically utter side of the beach-clear water about 30ft deep, catch ewt from lobster to mackerel in their 10's to Bass, whiting, Gunyard (ugly fish that has spiked wings but tastes amazing) wrass and dog. The odd cod too but they are better found wrecking

This was a 13lb Bull Huss I caught from a boat trip that left from Rhos on sea, cracking trip I had 7 of these on the day, non under 10lb either!
I can't remember the name of the boat but we had a few trips with him, cracking skipper.
I'd swerve Anglsey, every trip we've had from there has been pants.
Btw Llandudno pier is producing Bass atm, my mate has been down lately, says he's getting them in on spinning tackle.

Not blowing my trumpet, but i know a bit about sea fishing! Honestly caernarfon bay outfishes liverpool bay.

I have fished most wrecks that produce in the bay, pulled congers like there going out of fashion from both wrecks and great place penmon point, puffin island, low water on the turn.

Best place for bass is in the gap of puffin island, and caernarfon bar, i know guys who do it pro, make £1k a day on he bass.

Most charter skippers are usless in north wales pure tourist trips not for fisherman, they hate using diesel, and would know how tondrift a wreck to save their life. On an average trip on dads boat we would leave port dinorwic, head out into the bay and fish in st georges channel, abour 70 miles off, 18 hour trips, the real deal.... As good as the devon and plymouth boat catches, when we were doing it there was only 1 other boat doing it.

Dont get out much to the wrecks these days.

Plenty of tope in cernafon bay now, regular 50lb fish, never bothered with huss, just a hassle.

Bass also down on the llyn, place called tripods, very good. Only bait for bass live sandeels, without a doubt, had plenty.

In 1998, whilst on a wreck called the H5, we caught a porbeagle, 200lb, not many fish for them but there are plenty in caernarfon bay around this time. Goot that on vhs video!

Can you boat boys start a boat trip thread, it's getting confusing who's doing what..

Think for this first trip just do rod fishing. I have 1 spare telescopic rod and reel and all the gear needed, be nice if you could buy bait if you want to lend some of my gear as I'm a student bum still haha.

I'm going to say SATURDAY THE 3rd August, ride to ABERDARRON.
Maybe do the boat thing next month when we have a better idea of numbers in mind.

LYMM SERVICES MEET UP 10Am by the McDonalds, means we can have a lay inn and fuel up for anyone who forgot (although it's slightly more expensive here).

Who needs a rod? I have 1 spare. (PM me if you want to lend it)

Go outdoors sells a very decent telescopic sea rod and reel combo for £28 (max)

Just post names below if you are coming on that date :)

    Many thanks for everyone's interest

Lol I just spent 15 years of my life pretty much every weekend on dads boat doing offshore fishing. Great times. I remember my dad buying one of the first GPS plotters £3500! These days everyone has them on their phone!

We used to find wrecks before GPS using decca that got you within 100 meters ! Then GPS at the time was about 10 meters.

Most boats around Wales rip you off. They just take people make real bashing, doggies etc!

I fancy this. Out on a boat (not a tourist trip) with someone who knows where to go, so we have a decent trip.
