    This time i have a plan -

Picked up an 09 registered R6 i believe from the panels and decals it to be a 2007 model. Not even run in yet and its been CatD'd. I am currently fixing it up and will have it back on the road before the month is out and hopefully at Oulton on the 28th. the long term plan is to then build it up as a track bike over winter 09 and summer 2010 to then move into racing in 2011 to try it. Nothing serious just to gain the experience.

Anyhow first hurdle is getting this back on the road parts are in and fairings are prepped for paint, me being me not a simple paint job, no comments on that you will see the finished product later this month.

This is how it stands at the moment:

    the good side

    the not so good

and the very tidy rear this bike has

Where did you get it from?
I usually trawl Cheshire motorcycle salvage on the lookout for a cheap bike to play with.

    What price was that then?
Maybe I could entrust you to find me a similar bike for trackdays?

cant do that mate unfortunately, what you want is to buy summit all done like i did first time around, ebay is a good start some sorted track bikes on there, stay away from trick engines, standard is way better but look for summit with rear sets, clip ons suspension set up and wow's (wets on wheels). for £3-3500 you can get a hell of a bike

    UPDATE

well its moving along already, another 07 R6 has come in over the last day or two and been decalred a total loss as luck would have it it has some bits on it that are now making their way onto my bike.

Akraprovic silencer, RMG tail tidy with cut off lower end and an after market clear rear light. and both wheels for WOW's.

Next up is getting some downpipes made up for it and thats the system done. The doner bike may have a damper and a power commander not sure yet.

Its all good, pics will follow when i can get some

    Re: R6 Build

right the bike as of this morning is moving in the right direction, all the parts have been prepped for paint, the paint guy just called me and i have completely changed the whole paint scheme

he is happy as its very special and almost a one off.........

I have ordered a full sytem from MTC in Burscough (downpipes, link pipe and can) after deliberation and chatting its going to be fitted and packed out to do 103db with the baffle out and then whatever it is with it in. The PCIII will have two maps done at J33 for with and without so i can swap between them when required.

Its all good, just want to get my hands on the bike now should be with me in 7 days

So returned from where the bike is today, first i went to the paint shop, talked through the design made a few changes and some subtle personal touches.

The base colour is down and the rest should be done by the end of the week.

I am really excited this paint job is a one off and will look so good when its done.

exhuast system is here just cleaned up the downpipes its off down to the bike tomorrow less the end can thats off to MTC to be re packed and wrapped as its blue.

Coming along, a front wheel is are biggest hang up its on its way but no landed yet when it does its off to paint and then onto the bike.

Been to MTC 1 hour and the can had been repacked and a new outer rivited on as i wanted a matt black finish.

Awesome, system and PCIII on way down to bike as i type and should be fitted before the weeks out, i may even have the bike before the end of next week.

this is the system i have but i swapped the blue wrap on can for black
