Out yesterday for what was supposed to be a weekend in wales i come off on the a543 between Denbigh and Betsw y coed. Feeling pretty lucky ive got away with a broken collar bone and 2 cracked ribs could of been alot worse.

I was coming upto the sharp right before the lake and sportsman. Went to brake and lever come to the handle bar, tried again same thing- poss brake fade or summat to do with the brake fluid ??
Tried the back brake but the back started locking so split second decision i stood it up, up a verge, over the bars, somersault (impressed with coz i aint no gymnast lol) landed on my left shoulder and side. Never blacked out but was a bit dizzy.
The car that was behind us stopped and a few bikes too, 1 guy on his missus stopped on an xjr and sorted ambulance and slowed traffic. 25min wait for the ambulance and police to turn up and everyone was fantastic, much appreciated.
Bike is now at north wales recovery which ive got to sort out. From what im told its front forks, radiator, front hugger and fairing damage.
Just got up from 4hrs of painfull sleep, but im here and it could of been alot worse !

    Cheers chaps
Was TPFT so ill have a look and see if its worth repairing when i get back. Thankfully no hayfever. Makes you realise what your collar bone and ribs do coz any sort of movement is agony.....that reminds me, its time for more painkilkers:)

if anyone you know is due back from spain ask them to get you a few boxes of ANALGIPLUS painkillers - theyre about 2 euros a pack over the counter and are brilliant for what youve got.
you'll be on painkillers for a good 2mth at least mate - these are well better than paying £7+ a pop for uk prescription shite.

Sorry to hear that Dougall lad, it seems to me that you suffered brake failure (burst brake pipe, etc). Brake fade would not mean that the lever would pull into the handle bar.

I am glad you are ok bud, I have done my collar bone a few times and I know how bad they hurt. Keep your arm up as high as possible as it keeps the blood around your shoulder, which will decrease the amount of healing time required.

    GWS dude
