I had preety much the same problem, only mine dies at high rev's,Smudgers suggested the same advice to me,instead of bothing to find the earth, simeply strip a wire, connect it to the black NEGATIVE leead (at the battery) and attach the frame.

As suggested take the carb off, clean it,clean it again and make sure you put the thortall cable back on properly.

Hopefully you don't follow some of these jokers advice :)

Start with simple things first like checking condition of battery, charging system, earth continuity, spark plugs and HT leads before moving onto items which require dismantling (such as carburettors etc).
Be methodical - repair/fix one item at a time and test ride the bike after each fix. Do this so that the next time you experience the same fault you know exactly where the problem may lie.

Before starting any work on a carburettor, make sure the fuel tap and inline filters have been cleaned/replaced and the fuel tank has been rinsed out with clean fuel. You'd be amazed how many fuel systems get clogged up with dirt/rust and starve fuel to the carburettor.

    Hope this helps.

Definitely sounds more electrical than anything else. Weak coil spark etc, have you got a multimeter?

    okay so.
I checked the ground it was fine
Checked that the fuel tap. wasn't blocked
So i moved on to the carb
Took it apart but the thing looked spot less
put it back together and still nothing
I've manage to brake the choke return thing on the carb (can someone give me the real name of this?) and there's excess wire (may have stretched it) on the handle bar bit
But still i can close it and open it manually

She wasn't starting in the morning when i tried it so i thought fuck it take it apart
but even after putting it together its the same things
I tried jumping it again it'll start but soon die pretty quick (doesn't sound right though)

another thing, when using the kick start. there is this HORRIBLE noise coming from it, it sounds like the gears are like blowing up or something, i think it was so same noise i heard when it first went boom, going to check the front sprocket tomorrow as i'm far too tired

I'm pretty convinced though that it's the air to fuel ratio

What colour is the spark plug? If you can take a picture of it and upload it, that will tell whether the A/F Ratio is set correctly.

Slide the black cap off it (Just pull it off) and use a spark plug socket (Just a regular socket, most socket sets have one in) otherwise you might have a cheaper tool which looks something like this
    [IMG]

Just slide it over and turn as usual. When putting it back in make sure you start the thread with your hand and don't overtighten it.

lots of bike tool kits have a spark plug tool included. normally its the handle of the screwdriver. has been on my ybr and cbf.
