my bike just clicked too, definately starter motor.. a guy i know came and had a look, tapped it with a mallet and it worked, never had a problem since. but i think thats because my bike is old and that tends to happen, excuse the lack of terminology but the brushes had come apart? good luck with it anyway, shouldnt be the same problem if youve got a newer bike
did you get the recall done on the regulator / rectifier? even if its on charge all day the r/r will earth the juice if its fkt. defo sounds like it to me... the grumbling noise will be the fuel pump trying to prime. get ian to test your reg rec.... easy enough to do.
Strangly my mate has rung me twice recently with just the same symptoms. Triumph with datatool alarm, the alarm was not disarming after a flat battery, took some deft remote button pushing but it eventually came off. Second was due to the main relay, 2 relays 1 is head lights 1 is main power feed to bike. You should be able to swap them over to test.
Well, In the end it was down to the battery, even though the optimiser was showing green it was infant goosed. New one on and started 1st time. Thanks Ian ...I'm back on the road. Chap at Kawasaki said optimisers sometimes get stuck with the lights on full if the battery is so low, it like fools it? Don't ask me I'm not a mechanic ..!
