I suspect it's the alarm, battery fully charged and I'm just getting a single click. It's making a proper grumbling sounds when I switch the alarm on or off! Anybody know about alarms ?

Are you sure the battery is Ok?, clicking type solonoid noise is usually a sign of not enough power to turn the starter motor...

if its letting you turn the lights on i would say its the bike not the alarm as it would go off other wise

Yea the lights come on, doesn't turn over, just a single click and nothing. It is making all kinds of grumbling noises for approx 10-15 secs. The alarm is working as it went off when I sat on the bike. And I was able to switch it off..

I had a single click on 'Cat. Turned out to be corroded terminals on the starter motor. Give them a quick clean.

Can't bump as I have a trapped nerve in mi neck at mo and any sudden movement kills..! I'll ask mi bruth to come over and give it a try. He'll be able to check the starter as well ( I hope)

would check your solinoid aswell as the wires going to that could of corroded.
Sounds like not enough power getting to the solinoid or starter motor is jammed/buggered
