So as you know I've had a few issues with the new toomer, I called into the bike shop today to find out what's happening and here's what he said

" right we've had a look at it and Ian has spoken with KTM UK, they have authorised us to go right through the bike"

    I said why ?

" because it's a death trap ! It's not been PDI'ed and the front end is loose, clocks were hanging off, an engine bolt was hanging out etc etc."

Ok so when will I get it back?

" well we have it booked in for the 23rd so worse case the 24th"

    Oh right !!

So anyway long story short KTM UK are fully aware of the situation so I get onto their customer service an moaned like fuck cos right now I don't have a bike an the suns shinning so I want a loaner.

Now I'm waiting for a call tomorrow (friday) as the file on my case is being dealt with at a board meeting. So fingers crossed I'll get some answers tomorrow.

I must have done something really bad cos I've had some bad times getting this bike however be warned Craig's Motorcycles in Dewsbury are not to be trusted.

i had murder trying to get a loan bike out of ktm. eventually agreed that if they couldnt sort the bike within a week they would either loan me a bike or hire me one. they sorted the problem eventually (my old ktm btw) so didnt have to take them up on it.
    good luck daz.

shame the dealer isnt there any more, be handy for you i reckon.

I've not contacted Craig's yet as its gone so far up the chain I want to hear what they say about it in the morning.

I will be going mental with Craig's in good time, not that it will achieve anything mind.

Fingers crossed KTM will sort summat out for me

Good luck with it Daz, hope you get a loaner till its sorted. just dont understand why they are going through the bike. I would have thought New bike for you with compensation, plus the dealer in question f*cked off. would have thought thats good customer relations and shows its customers they are a good company, who values its customers

Thats absolute madness, the main thing is that its been recognised and being sorted.

mate i wouldnt be expecting much from KTM, my mate had a brand new 690 smc, gearbox went at 3k miles, so it was repaired under warrenty, 200 miles later it shit itself again another rebuild, and would you believe another 1000 mile or so it done it for the third time, he complained about poor dealership serviceing etc and got no help from ktm with it at all! With the same dealership he left in in for a service to keep the warrenty, so it was a long ride up for us, before we left we checked chains etc as we normally do and all was fine, after the service we got 20 mile down the road and the chain snapped, they had overtightened it, same dealer wouldnt offer a new chain or anything said it was a consumable!! oh 3k miles on the chain

    That's really bad

In comparison alot of the BMW sr1000 's have been recalled due to faulty conrod connecting bolts . Some of the guys I've spoke to have had superb service

One racer I know has had his go twice. And the bike is spec'ed up as a super stock racer , this invalidates the warranty straight away, but BMW sorted the bill.

Proper customer serviice goes along way in my book and it does in all honesty , looks like colwyn Bay motorcycles are sorting it for you. , which is great news and I'm sure when it returns all will be forgotten

    What dealer was that?

It was a dealer in Ireland mate, he said he would never buy a ktm again after that, and he had a few brand new ktms before all that happened, strange one I have a 690 the exact same and it's never give me a spot of bother but I do all my own servicing.

I will be doing all my servicing once the warranty has gone, to be fair Colwyn Bay KTM are very good and they have really gone the extra mile here and ive no idea why.

Sounds like its been a parts mule at some dealer to rob parts off to get other people back on the road and then not put back together in a professional manner.

Thank god they didn't let you out on that trackday at oulton mate. :(
