    @Jazzi / @gsxstu / @pch1 - can I pick your brain please?

    I went into a store yesterday and tried a few - compared specs, tested the start up, auto focus spec etc... and pretty much decided on the Canon SX700. I've found it for a good price, and want to order it along with memory card and tripod etc...

    What memory card should I get? Any particular brand better than another? Also, I know I want minimum of class 10 for the HD video recording (it does 1080 @ 60fps), but I'm not sure about the UHS-I part... I'm a bit out of date!

    Some of the memory card websites offer them for this camera, but on the following website it appears they're not supported? I'm a bit confused...

    On here - they show UHS-I cards...

    I'm surprised how cheap memory cards are now, it's been a few years since I last bought one and they've come right down!

    And then, tripods - any suggestions? One that is compact but quite flexible would be good... some have magnetic feet which seem a good idea?

    What do you think of this?

    Or would you go with a larger one (obviously I want something compact, but would rather something a bit bigger if it's going to be more usable?)

    Thanks for any help - I appreciate being able to come and here and pick all your knowledge, as it's not so straight forward to find specific info like this online.

    Thanks :)

    I found out that UHS-1 is backwards compatible... so getting one isn't going to do any harm :)

    I use a few different types of sd card but you are better off getting a class 10. I get them from my local computer shop they are cheaper than curry/pc world etc.
    As for tripods I have a little aluminium on that the legs come out rather like a car ariel, but wht ever you are prepared to payfor one I dont use mine all that often (if ever).

    Cheers Stu... I understood the class bit from a few years ago luckily, I'd just never come across the uhs before, but understand it enough now
