suggest small group to attack germany and austria, advancing via rotterdam, into the black forest, taking in the b roads around central and southern germany (avoiding the newly restricted roads) and hitting the austrian alps, edelweiss pass etc - absolutely stunning scenery and roads.
take a day out to ride the ring maybe?
100 euros a day for fuel, 50 for food and beer, 50 for digs (high estimate)
    2 days in & out, 5 days riding, approx a grand - 1200 tops.

regardless how many show an interest at an early stage, you can guarantee there will only be 5-6 who will make the trip!
im defo doing a euro ride again next year, but not as far as into italy as its too much of a trek to enjoy the minor roads.
hopefully take the firestorm next time :)

Totally agree with Martin there. Don't pack too much into too little time , or it's all a blur.

I go to Scotland every year. Just come back actually, the roads are fantastic ..but..... You need decent weather and in Scotland that's a 50 / 50 chance

That's the beauty of Europe. Great weather , great roads, great backdrops. Never been to Europe before ? You can do the Iong weekend easily taking in spa. Austria ? Switzerland ? Best roads ANYWHERE. ( and I've been alot of places) but give yourselves 8 days min to see it

Another short euro blast is grab the Portsmouth Cherbourg boat on a Friday noon, head south east, your at Le Mans by tea time ! Take in the war beaches on the coast enroute home get the 2 pm sunday ferry from Cherbourg and your back in the uk for 3 pm ride home !

Northern Spain ? Go to the Plymouth / Santander ferry , ride over the pico mountains towards the portuguese coast turn round , head back across Spain , over the Pyrenees , Andorra, into south of France , and head back to boat at Bilbao .

If you want any advice on roads , where to go etc. ask away, one word of advice ALWAYS google any conflicts on your route. We sorted to go the ring etc it was closed ! Cars only days! We rode to the Pyrenees ! WTF were all the push bikes doing ? Tour de France ! Plan in advance , like we didn't !

My plan is either Black Forest, Baden Baden round that neck of the woods or French Alps, the route Napoleon through Provence would be mega on a motorbike, and take in some of the climbs I had to do on a pushbike Mont Ventoux Col de Galibier and actually enjoy them this time.

You should try going to the North West 200 in Northern Ireland, It's a great weekend, good road racing, and the coast road North of Belfast to the circuit is long and Mega with excellent scenery. Also it's a mega p*ss up!!!!

I always do B an B sue in Scotland , too many bears , wolves and big eagles that might swoop down and take my Angus burger away !

£55 a night twin room , full Scottish breakfast , red hot bath , bikes locked in a secure garage. Can't beat it

    This is the N85 !

Do this route in full from Cannes to Grenoble and it's a fantastic route. The Grasse - Digne stretch is a classic mountain road - loads of bends, great surface - where you can really open a bike up. The bit in the middle from Sisteron to Gap is dull with a lot of traffic. Once through Gap the road gets going again and offers some fantastic riding. I followed a French biker along this stretch who seemed to know the twists and turns very well. This is a seriously fast piece of road with some fantastic bends . It's 190 mile long! At the Grenoble end, turn right, northeast, head for Geneva via the mount blanc tunnel. , incredible riding through that revving your bike, martins SP2 in that would blow your mind

After the cancelled Nurburgring trip and snapping my Achiles tendon this year I am determined to do a European trip in 2013. May or June are ideal for me. Let's make some plans and get BIG deposits down so it happens this time

Needs planning and prepping properly chris , but can be done , peeps need to put the cash where there mouths are , as you and mart say , so you have numbers to work on etc.

Ferry cost from hull £90 return based on 4 sharing a cabin into Rotterdam. From there your away. Pick dome dates and get it booked I'm going to go in May next year and I plan to do a track day at Spa and a few laps of the ring and do all the nice roads in the area.
