My question is are the aftermarket led rear lights with intergrated turn signals road legal in the uk and do you still need seprate signals aswell as the intergrated ones for the mot.
May be completely legal, but to us partially colour blind folk they are completely useless. Incidently, I question if they are legal. I believe that indicates have to be a defined distance apart. Need to review construction and use specifications.
Indicators must be fitted to a motorcycle and emit only orange light They must flash on and off, not just dim and brighten They must flash between 60 and 120 times per minute They must be visible when riding or have a functioning idiot light They must be securely fitted and so must the switch They must not be adversely affected by the operation of another lamp or the horn

Ours didn't come with proper connectors, just the pins. But they fitted straight into the original loom. A bit of fiddling around to figure out which one is left and right etc. Took about 20 min tops
You can get some proper cheap ones from Hong Kong and China, I decided to go with a £80 one from Germany though
Gotta admit whilst they look mega they are massively unsafe! also most units restrict light so that the light can only been seen when directly behind the bike. Regarding the spacing: if the light (orange) effects the brake light in anyway (regardless of spacing) then its a straight MOT failure. Ive had 2 since Ive started biking and either removed them or added separate indicators aswell.
id of thought the brake light would be a MOT fail on the light in the vid above with it not emitting a constant light when indicating ?
Ok then, functional kit. Am I not right in saying that it IS a functional kit? It has a tail light and two indicators. The only difference from your bog standard set up is that its in one unit not three! If you wanted to nit-pick everytime someone put something 'illegal' on their bike you'd be here for hours, as simple as that. 50% of people on here probably haven't got BS marked exhausts, illegal. Smaller plates, illegal. Etc etc. You shouldn't stop buying stuff on the off-chance that someone behind you doesn't agree with it, or doesn't see it. You should be doing half the obs yourself, lifesavers before you turn, mirror checks. In the 3 years I've been pillion on a bike not once have we had a car pull out on us or almost take us out. Read the road and it puts you in a less of a situation to be on the floor.
I have a clear integrated on the cbr all that was required was to replace and just connect one of the bulb holders making one redundant. Passed MOT no problem had plenty of road traffic police behind me not a single look I even have one of them flashing brake lights.
Well, actually you should stop buying stuff on the offchance that someone doesn't see it, considering that we're talking about BRAKE LIGHTS. And smaller plates and non e-marked exhausts aren't safety features, surely you'll agree brake lights and indicators are a bit more vital Also, I wouldn't have bothered writing this response if your message above wasn't so fucking childish - "YOLO". Mate, its not 2012 anymore - and it wasn't cool then.
