Just a question about my ZXR thats had me thinking..

The bike gets up to temperature fairly quickly (about half way on the gauge) when riding below\up to 70mph however once I go any faster it drops very quickly to just below the cold markings, obviously it wont rev (or doesn't feel like it wants to) while cold so I just have to slow down, annoying when I'm trying to keep up with others, any ideas?

    Thanks for any help :D

i think it could be your thermostat perhaps its stuck closed so water isnt circulating causing it to be cold at the temp sender.... or it could just be that when your going faster more air is going through the radiator and causing it to cool too much mine will go colder when the rpm is higher but after a little while the temp goes up again, perhaps you may need to tape off some of the rad so it is running hotter Mito's had to do this because the rad was so big. have you heard if anyone else with the same bike as you has similar problems???

I was thinking it could be the cold, but then I realized that Ant's CBR was staying at a decent temp at higher speeds, going to try taping the radiator up and see what happens, hopefully it is just the cold weather effecting it :)

Think Nick as it spot on. Simple way to check this is take the thermostat off. Put it in some warm water and see if it opens up.

scott make sure you have sufficient water in your bike mate, my mito for some reason lost some water dont kno why but i topped it up and it was fine, if you have sufficient water then sqeeze your pipes you may have an air lock in the cooling system somewhere

Mate of mine used to have to tape up the rad on his TZ 250 race bike as it stayed very cold - especially on the cold open wastes of Snetterton - try a bit of cardboard held on with gaffer tape.
