hey guys went ot on zx on thursday and i opened her up to about 120 and when i let off and tried to accellearte anain there was nothing there when i pulled the clutch in she cut out it felt like it was being starved of petrol but i had a full tank cheaked the fuel line it was fine she will crank over but wont fire up so im thinkin ether carbs are blocked or the fuel pump has gone . has anyone got any ideas what it might be

if it was the immombilser it wouldnt crank over or at least thats what i thought but i could be wrong
Hi mate, im sure you've checked the 'idiot' point ? kill switch ? A 125 i had died coming to a roundabout years ago, wheeled it to a petrol station and filled her up only to realise i'd hit the kill switch lol
yeh ive got a feeling the kill switch and immobiliser would just stop the spark rather than inhibiting the starter (but im not sure, some bikes may be different) so may be worth just checking that you have a spark (and whilst you got the plugs out just see what condition theyre in and whether it smells of petrol). wierd why it did it when you were flat out though, not sure if theres something there or whether it was just a coincidence. Just throwing an idea out there but maybe some condition occurred at that high speed that fouled the plugs meaning they need a good clean ?? Whip 'em out and let us know !
the first thing to see if the fuel pump is primeing if thats not than its getting stopped by something else
If it just cut out then it's more likely to be ignition related by the sounds of it. Check the wiring around the headstock. As it's carbs and the tank had plenty of fuel, the carbs should still refil by the wonders of gravity, bike will still run but you won't have full throttle as the carbs cannot refresh quick enough by gravity. check the pump anyway.
