Possibly a daft question but here goes, bought a zx6r 2008 model a few weeks ago, checking the oil today I noticed the oil level was bang on between the lines whilst on the side stand but when level it's over by a fair bit.. Which is the right way to check.. Did a quick google search and all I got was yanks arguing about which is right... Cheers in advance..

Manual says bike level which I took as level ground but doesn't clearly state if it should be stood straight or on the stand.. Not got a haynes yet

bike should be upright level. I made that mistake last week filled the oil up on side stand but was well over when upright, next thing bike started bogging out and running like shit

Today's top tip!! Well done Johnny
One I was told a few years ago was to put a plastic bag over your boot when putting waterproofs on. Obviously take it off once waterproofs are on and your riding ;-)
