Hi guys, Hoping for some help! The bike is a kawasaki zx-6r F1 model (95) Took delivery of my bike a couple of months ago, no problem. Ran the bike up today after about a month of storage and its making a loud knocking noise when in neutral from the clutch area. When the clutch lever is pulled in the noise stops. Any idea what the problem is likely to be and if I can fix it myself? If it's likely to be expensive I'm just going to send the bike back and ask for my money back.
Clutch rattle, nothing to be worried about on a kawasaki The more they rattle, the more power they make It's most likely the alternator chain behind the clutch that needs adjustment.. it should disspear after awhile when the auto adjuster clicks another notch
Well thats a relief! thanks a lot for the info. I was a bit concerned as the whole bike was actually rattling while i was on it! Couple of months and I'll be on the road!
The only way to tell if its a Genuine Kawasaki is to listen for that sexy Kawasaki clutch rattle or If it dont rattle, it aint a Kwak you get the idea
No your part of the club when you have binned your kwakka on the scotch to southport run at kwakka corner.. Falcon and Tomo have done it... lol
Did it look like this? I nearly, very very nearly wiped out up there on new years eve. Lined up for a nice left and was greeted with a road that was covered in plasticine. had to chop the throttle ever so lightly to make the bike stand up cos i was on a decent lean, had the missus on the back and the bike was sliding sideways towards on coming traffic....... Bet it looked like i was drifting w00p w00p
Can't remember, just remeber saying "Oh shit" to myself, then telling Gilly that I felt "Fucked" Great pics tho
