Sounding good paul, the clock do look immaculate, and the swingarm looks mint!! Shame the bike will be done before you....
Right guys, we finally have an update! Had a call off John at Orrell Park Motorcycles informing me the replacement bottom yoke and swingarm were fitted and the bike was ready to be collected Loon picked it up this morning and dropped it off to me: Here's how it was when I got it with the nice, new swingarm: I started work on the bike removing pieces of damaged fairing that was still attached, crash bungs and of course, the exhaust: So here's pretty much how it is now: I've decided to not spend what I need to get it back to road spec. Instead, I've decided to stick with the track idea. Come summer, if I want to stick it on the road, I'll just give it a daytime MOT and insure it on a monthly basis or something. It's going to be a new bike for the road! Just need to pick up a ram air carrier to mount the clocks, sort out a new levers for the front, get a rear rhs footrest and order the track fairings. I'll start getting tarty bits once I get to that stage. Paul
I like it like that. Job done! lol At least its coming together mate, be good when your back on your feet properly
Well, this thread hasn't seen much activity for a while! Due to lack of funds recently, I've not been able to get any parts for the bike. It's been sat outside under a cover over the winter months and not had any attention. However, as a few would've have seen on a Facebook status I posted last week, I removed the cover, stuck the key in it and it started first time with no hesitation! Go go Kawasaki!!! So, I was planning to put track fairings on the thing but after much deliberation, I've decided to put it back on the road. I've not bought anything new for it yet, but I have got a few important bits lined up. I've just ordered the ram air duct assembly from Cornwall Kawasaki, £116 for a bit of plastic lol!!! Contacted loads of breakers to try and get one secondhand but as someone said on the ZX10R forum a while ago, they're like hens teeth. Oh well, it's worth the money when you need it. I did manage to sort the clocks out today. When they originally arrived, I connected them to the bike to check they worked and I noticed they were set in KPH. I wasn't really concerned about that at the time. Anyway, after a bit of playing, I managed to change it to MPH: It seems my bike has lost a few miles compared to the original clocks
Glad its coming along fella im still jealous even as it looks now lol, obvious comment but if you need owt gimme a ring etc
Nice one.......I think your next purchase should be some decent decals....Maybe a Honda badge or two :haha:
tbh i think yours paul is the best zx10r model and in the best colour, the new swinging arm gives it a factory quality that i think looks boss, once you get it back together on the road it will look mega.
The inconsiderate postman woke me up this morning. Although he was the bearer of great things, today. The ram air duct assembly turned up So out it come, and I mounted it on the frame: So finally, I was now able to mount my new clocks So, that's the expensive, genuine bit out of the way. I'm bidding on a few bits at the moment so I'll update if and when, I'm successful with any of them. Paul
:geek: *AHEM*........I think you will all find that the CBR1000RR is the perfect weapon of choice !!!! HONDA !!!! oke: :haha:
