Ok the bike struggled to start last weekend but was fine all day after that. On Wednesday night went to it and it wouldn't start. Put more fuel in it but still not starting. Turns over fine. Took tank off and fuel is getting to injection system. Took one of coil packs out and put a plug in it tried it and no spark. Any ideas?
Have checked all fuses and connectors.

sidestand switch is a possible.... maybe a bit of water ingress in the loom?
is there any error code displayed?
as in does it say F1 or something????
check all the relays under the tail.... might have got wet or come loose.

I have checked all connectors and no error codes are showing. Bike will start with stand down. I can hear the fuel pump kick in. There is no spark. Looking at it there is an immobiliser fitted but all controlled by it's own ecu.

i would think the ECU and Immobilisor have nothing to do with the sidestand switch, try checking relay connections preferably with battery disconnected.

Is it not a fault inside the ECU for the immobiliser, or even a blown fuse in the circuit?

    is it fixed yet then>>>???

it's not fixed he means it would normally start with the side stand down. think he is hoping to find someone with a z to check the ECU before paying out a lot of money then finding it's something else.

any volunteers willing to let Neil put his ECU into your Z and see if it works?

Been through everything and it turns out to be the camshaft position sensor. Got one on order. Just hope nothing else at fault
Will try to fit it as soon as it arrives
