Hi, i have a 08 YBR fuel injected and im wondering if anyone knows if or what the problem could be when your bikes revs suddenly drop from 7/8k to 0 and you lose power from the throttle for about 3 seconds. Thats what happened to me the other day but its only happened once.

17 sec video here showing what i mean, Cheers.

Indicating with your right arm can cause power loss.

Not a clue pal... Bit strange too. Have you checked the hamster? He may have just fallen off his wheel.

Is the plug cap on tight?
Are the battery cables on tight?
Is your kill and ignition switches operating cleanly?
Is the side stand secure when retracted?
Is the micro switch on your clutch lever secure?

It looks electrical rather than fuel related. The rev counter drops instantly, then returns instantly indicating a bad connection. Cab has covered the things to check. But you could also look at things like earth straps between the battery/engine/frame.
They should all be tight, corrosion free and with no fraying on the cable.

Definitely Electrical. I would say it could be a loose connection on your crank sensor.

If your lights die off as well, something is earthing somewhere.

The two Yams I've owned have both had an error display using the tachometer. It may be telling you something but 0 is not used as far as I'm aware. Check the fuel level sensor and also the crank sensor
