Looking for rubber for my bike.
Been out on it today and due to the wet weather, felt as if my rear was gonna fall from underneath me. Even at low speeds.

Obviously I can't stop it completely. But I'm thinking better rubber would help rather than the stock yammy rubber. Nothing wrong with them as I've only just broke 1000mile (today).

    Cheers

Adam on here had a YBR 125.

I believe the best tires for this bike are Michelin Pilot Sporty. They come as standard on the YZFR125, but I've now got Pirelli Sport Demons.

I'm not sure if the Sport Demons are available for the YBR sizes, but if they are - get them! They're much better than the Pilot sporty's.

But as far as I remember the Michelin Pilot Sporty are the best tires for the YBR as I remember Adam doing some research. They are much rounder than the normal (squared) YBR tyres, so you'll find them much better.

I buy my tires on oponeo.co.uk but shop around, might be cheaper to buy & fit in the same place rather than buying them online and then paying for fitting.

I know a guy who will fit tires cheaper than a shop but he's in Liverpool.

+1 for the Pilot sportys. The Cheng Shin (Aka ditch finders) are absolutely terrible. They have less grip than butter.

Definitely a worthwhile replacement is the Pilot Sporty's. I've got them on my YBR and I've never looked back since. Phenomenal grip and they only let go when you're going mad. I've lost the back end many times on the YBR (Though me being a hooligan and drifting round corners) and they have snapped back into place every time.

I thoroughly recommend them. I think it cost me £75 fitted for the rear last time I had them done.

bet your looking a good £200 for a new pair of tyres to be fitted

not being sarcastic, but you wont have enough experience to tell the difference between them. id ride the tyres you have till they wear to the limit then change.

first call for you is the pressures. make sure they are at what Yamaha recommended. if they are Low ,it will feel like they are rolling of the edge.

Id also check your suspension, this works the tyres...if you have any adjustment ,set the static sag for your weight. then go to a road you know well..ride it , make a minor adjustment to the compression setting on the rear, then ride the same road. do this till you feel the difference.

when you adjust anything write it down so you can always revert back to the base setting ( static sag)

Also, don't get confused with Michellin's Pilot Sports. They're the big bike equivalent. The Pilot Sportys are the small equivalents.

Order them yourself and get someone you know to fit them, shops rape you with prices. As david said, I loved them tires.. better than my tires on my 500 :)
