xenon light bulb

Hiya ive got a 99 zx6r and it has xenon haedlight bulb fitted. And its gone. Need to replace it but aint got a clue how. Can you replace the bulb. Where can i get them from. Do i need to unscrew the silver housing that sits over the bulb and if i do take that off will the bulb pull out. Pissing me well off lol iam in bolton. Any help will be apericiated. Cheers

 

Is its HID or xenon style?

Does it have a ballast and if so look on it you will see either DC or AC

hi nicky, if its a push in fit with spade fittings like this.then all you have to do is pull the old one out,and push the new one in.possibly be a clip of some sort to hold the bulb in place it can be a bit fiddly but perseverance is a must.

I wish mine were like that. But its not got the 3 pins. Its a solid connection from wires to bulb carrier. Fukin xenons there not worth the miver.
Its annoyin coz ive just spent £180 gettin the chain n sprockets sorted and now this minor issue is gunner stop me using it. I will try n post a pic for u

Ok pal look on the ballast and see if its 35w or 55w AC or DC

 

It says E13 12v HID Ballast

 

No other writing on it??

Chances are if its a chinese set it will be 35w and DC

If your not far from me(cheshire) , I have some bulbs you can try

Otherwise just order some 35w 6000k from ebay and that will do the trick

Just been told its a chinese HID and is very strange. And best bet is to redo the wires and put it back to a normal 3 pin light which is what i want to do.

 

Yea thats the best bet, HID retro fits are very very poor.

If you do want a hand im free all saturday if you want to use my garage.

 

Really apriciate that woody but my dads gunner get rid tonite and solder a new h4 bulb holder in. Then i can just fit a standard bulb. Least then its easier to replace if needs be. Basterd chinese parts

 

strange the chinese part should be plug and play for hb-2 and plug and play for hb-3 with extra wires for battery to use high beam as i have the chinese 8k kit
