After the third time of my xbox 360 failing with the RROD, I've decided to try fix it myself (twice previously I sent it to console wizard in Bolton and it would last for a few months before failing again). I bought the Team-Xecuter RROD pro kit ii and fitted it myself, but I still cannot get the xbox to work. This is the point I'm stuck at: Disconnect the fan and switch on the console where you will see 3 flashing red lights. Wait a few minutes and when you see two flashing red lights, power down the xbox. Unfortunately I can't power down the xbox when the two red lights flash and have to pull the plug. I've tried this a few times but still no joy. Any help? Ben what you reckon? I have seen another site that gives a different method www.llamma.com but haven't tried it yet for fear of cooking the GPU. Any help greatly appreciated.
This is what I do after the fix...it has to overheat to reseat the solder on the the chip. if it's not working after, put it on eBay as Fooked then buy a ps3 they last longer.
I've fixed many xboxs over the years and always found a heat gun is the best option. Just heat the heatsink for 30sec or so then leave it to cool (without moving it!) and bomb. Works
You mean it wont respond to the power button once two lights are on? TBH im not sure. Ive done one back in the day (before the kits) wrapping it in a towel etc and got a couple more weeks out of it. I did the kit on another one but that only lasted a couple of months so I bought another box, been lucky with this one for a couple of years. Its the old shape but im sure they changed the design a little. I know thats not much help, but I gave up as my results were hit and miss :censored:
