If you want a glorified Blu-Ray player, go for the PS3. If you want an unmatched online gaming experience, go with the Xbox :)

I've had a PS3 since launch day in March 2006.

As said, if you want online gaming, then the xbox is where it's 'at'.

The PS3 is considerably better as a media player. It's also much more future proof with full 1080p capacity (for the very few games they have bothered to properly code in that resolution). We're still yet to see game coders make the most of the PS3 hardware capabilities - when GT5 finally comes out in 2010 hopefully we will.

The PS3 is also quicker to load, quieter, has a slicker interface, can function as a Linux PC if you want, and multi-platform games are just as well rendered (if not better).

Not much between them. I had the same dilema and ended up with Xbox. It is cheaper, on line play as awesome (you pay for what you get). I already have a Blue ray player so no use for the PS3 there. As I play on line most of the time I did not have to think twice. Otherwise there is not much between them really. Both impresive visualy. So if you wanna get your arse kicked by some of us here then it must the the Xbox mate.

I think Xbox it is then, will see about getting the elite version. What game do you all play on here?

I'm either on Forza Motorsport 3, Call Of Duty: MW2 or FIFA10.

MW2 is the game of the moment AWESOME on line. But it depends what you like. Thre are some great bargains around these days (from e-mail around £5 a piece you can have - Gears of War, HALO3, Bioshock "its a must have game for me" etc.) I am an Ice Hockey man so NHL 09 is my all time favourite but FIFA 10 is suppose to be world class too!

I own both - the ps3 and the xbo 360 and I'm seriously considering selling the ps3 because it NEVER gets used now we have a 360. The blu-ray thing was great for all of 5 minutes, but to be honest, whilst hd is good, it doesn't float my boat that much. Go and buy yourself an xbox 360 - you wont be disappointed!
