    as title...
wtfkin fk? i have never known so many accidents in so little time....
every morning, every night the motorways are rammed solid due to multiple cage wrecks.
    wtf are they doing ffs???
can they not even see each other in cars?
can they not even see trucks lol!!! :O

i think another possible reason is all the new drivers who just arent used to motorway driving in rush hour(s) in the dark?

keep your wits about you chaps & chapesses, it's absolute chaos out there lately :/

Even on this side of the water it's damn dangerous. No less than 3 eejits pulled into my lane without 'seeing' me.

I think I'll wear that police jacket a little more!

tell u what m8 if i was commuting id be wearing a hi vis...

i had to beep my horn at a driver today who was about to pull out on a bike, with lights on etc, not speeding.
reason is, i thought if he does go for it and hits him, how can he say he didnt see him if i was behing him and saw him early enough to beep?

just seems theyre in a world of their own lately... like they cant see the lane markings and signs etc.
also saw a few driving with the interior light on.... wtf? are they scared of the dark or something???
i thought that was illegal due to the fact it impairs your vision?

and the number of cars & vans ive passed where you can hardly see through the windscreen....
and number plates so dirty you cant read them, just off mway spray.
if i was a plod i'd be on mega commission!

I can guarantee at least 3 near misses or complete idiots who cannot drive in every journey I make recently, be it 5 miles or 200. Taxi's are the absolute worst of all.
thats why I drive a van now because less people tend to try & push you around or pull out on you

I also use my horn regular nowadays because everyone's either not paying attention or on their phone...

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I saw three separate crashes on the M56 last week.

I just think that people don't change there driving style at all for wet conditions. The amount of BMW's I have up my arse on the motorway in the teeming rain in dark conditions is unbelievable.

makes a big difference if you do get knocked off mate & when it comes to making a claim and disputed liability etc, assuming you survive that is....
not being negative there, just being realistic... if a car driver can blindside a 40 ton artic truck then what chance have you got!
dont assume theyve seen you, just keep your distance from every fker where possible when commuting & try & keep some space between yourself and the cars / trucks.
not a nice feeling being boxed in by a wall of rolling steel, especially when they cant see / dont look / too busy texting / getting a bj

Maybe im only saying this because i passed my test years ago but it amazes me how people do a twenty minute driving test and if they pass they can just drive on motorways at 70mph even though they've never been on one before.

Motorway driving should be a compulsary part of the driving test.

A friends daughter has just passed, (Really i would'nt cross the road if she was on a push bike. )
She actually said to me she just did straight roads on her test and she wants someone to go out in the car with her cos she's not too sure how to use roundabouts! :S

She also went down the expressway on her test at 60mph in 3rd gear and still passed! ( must've been the short skirt and false eyelashes that did it!)

In the first few weeks of passing she has scraped the side of her car on a bollard and went through a red light (cos "she did'nt realise,")

She's now perfectly legal to drive on a motorway now at 70mph!

I can't believe how many people you see now sitting in lanes and undertaking. They just have no idea what they are doing buy they're let loose in killing machines.!!!

Driving down the East Lancs to Manchester last week a car was over the white line blocking the lane. Managed to get passed in the end. As I went past I looked in and there was a woman sat with her hand flat on the middle of the steering wheel (where the horn is) and the other hand had a nail brush in...........she was painging her nails!!!!!

Coming home on the A1 2 weeks ago in the outside lane doing 80mph. Just passed a car in the middle lane and NOTHING infront of me now for at least 2 miles. A junction comes up and there is a coach joining the motorway with a car behind. The car behind came off the slip road and straight ober to the outside lane doing no more than 60mph! I had to slam on flash lights and beep horn. The girl driving gave me the wanker sign and the V's and sat in the outside lane. I had to undertake to get past and she was still doing 60mph. 2 miles on and I looked in rear view mirror and she was still in the outside lane, when there was nothing in either of the other lanes! Shocking, It was that bad even the wife agreed with me!!

Yeah. I could guarantee if everyone had to take their tests again, a significant amount of both us and them would fail.

if I remember in spain you need it done every 5 yrs with a medical, why is it not like that here????????
when you get older I think it changes to every 3 yrs.... that would get rid of alll the idiots every 5 yrs.

Its just getting stuipid atm. I can guarantee someone will pull out on me whenever i go out. We don't stand a chance half of the time, people just dont seem to think about anything they're doing.

I've said for donkeys years that you should have to retake your driving test every 3 or 5 years. People just don't listen....

Mind you, I've also been saying that cage drivers should be given a compulsory option to either ride a bike in traffic so they understand the risks of inattentive car drivers or to have big sharp metal spikes fitted to their dashboard and steering wheel. I'll bet you they'd drive more carefully then...

why is it that the driving test is to the basic minimum standard with no further tuition required/needed ? car drivers only have to do 1 haz test and a quick drive round to pass the test then they can drive anything they want.. even so called "profesional van/taxi drivers" have only done the same test.. ok the dvla is bringing in more stringent rules but that only covers towing caravans and 7.5 tonners.. you can still go from a micra to a fully loaded 3.5t merc sprinter in a day.. thats 3.5tonnes of loaded lwb van capable of 115 mph the day after passin yer test.. try stoppin that fucker .. ooohh.. i feel a jeremy vine moment coming on.. now wheres radio2 on this dial..oops.. me pension..lol..

just a thought.... i wonder if there are any stats relating to the injuries from car accidents, as in the number of drivers and passengers wih severe head injuries caused by going through the windscreen or like in that ad where the lad headbutts his mam from the backseat, lacerations & eye injuries from broken glass etc....
and the number of foot injuries after being trapped in the pedals when the car folds up....

imo this is unacceptable risk, and car drivers should be forced to wear reinforced footwear and crash helmets with visors.
also when exiting a vehicle on the offside *driver's side* they should have to wear compulsory hi vis jackets....
you know, for safety like ;)

Just wondering how many of us help ourselves to be seen by wearing hi viz etc? I certainly never used to. And most textiles are black or dark grey which doesnt help much either.

thing is lee, even with hi vis and headlights on you still can't take for granted you/ve been seen.
you could have a flashing christmas tree on your head but if someone just pulls out without looking....
good observation is the key to survival - expect them to pull out, change lanes, slam on etc cos they probably will & it makes it hell of a lot easier to avoid contact if you've seen it coming.
