My bike was running too rich, so i was told to move the Needle inside the carb down by moving the clip on the needle up a notch.

I did this yesterday but i moved the clip the wrong way, but when i rode it it ran ok, but not very nicely, but this was due to me moving the clip the wrong way.

So i moved the clip again, this time 1 up from its original position then i put it all back together and it will idle with the choke on, but at high revs. and as soon as I take the choke off it cuts out.

However, even if i have the choke on, it wont go, as in when i try and move it will just start to die as i accelerate.

I put the clip back to were it was before i was messing about but its still doing this.

    Any ideas?

My brother reckons its something to do with my bike not getting enough Air....

    Im stumped.

Sounds like you could have some dirt in the carb..........try stripping the float chamber and giving it a gud clean with some petrol. be careful not to bend the needle though fella!!

Scott, sounds like you have put the carb slide in wrong, check the slide is going all the way down and the gap on the slide is lining up correctly with the pin on the carb body, been caught by this myself 20 years back on a Suzuki X7 i had the slides in the wrong carbs too.
