winter strip down

well with all the wet weather and tax insurance running out i decided to give the mille a full strip down clean and get my frame and swingarm black heres my progress so far









also decided to add some carbon look wrap to the side of the tank that was just plain black

 

I'd watch that carbon wrap I done some bits on my bike some of the fairing inlay around clocks and stuff and the heat of the engine warps mine looks tatty now

why you taking it to bits lol, i thought you'd only just put it back together!

 

I've only just got it to a decent spec so now I want to do the cosmetics I've not had much time to ride this year because of the new business and I have to stay in the garage incase of custom so I have spare time to play with it next year I'm going out every chance I can Plus I really want a black frame

hahah it sits next to me in work so if i have no jobs thats where i keep my self busy haha

 

the mille will look awesome with a black frame and swingarm..is goin to be a diy job or powdercoat

rick do us a favour mate, give us a link to that airbox u got and that chip

and see if u can find that flywheel bolt cos i need it for my new storm engine.
i dont need the middle bit lol

 

Sound mate It's in my tool box I will try drop it off tomorrow mate the chips I can get custom made for the Aprilia for £40 and the air boxes are from Aprilia performance but I can bring the base plate over with me if you like to see if it fits ?

the airbox isnt for me, its for a mate.... he's just bought the tuono i went looking at on saturday.
same engine as yours afaik

 

Yes it is if its a gen 1 http://apriliaperformance.co.uk/ get him to ring there he makes the airbox's now tell him input you on to him he may sort him out he was in performance bikes the other month best Aprilia tech in the uk he has a forum rsvr.net and a Aprilia performance face book page and second hand ones come up on the forum

Yes I know where it all goes and as soon as I shift this flu I can get it powder coated well ill have to buy some threaded bar tomorrow to block the bearing holes

Just get it masked off, place I use mask and I've never had any problems.

Make sure they've got a good surface to work with and don't forget to get rid of any sharp lumps/bumps.
