Bought this standard unmolested 20 year old 750 Zephyr as a recent Winter project. How she arrived, nice but hardly a head turner so I set about giving her a more 'period' look..... First job was to strip and clean everything along with machine polishing as much of the alloy as poss.. Front forks stripped and polished along with a more period chrome 'muddy' fitted... Tank and plastics sent away and re-painted in a Z1A style.... Seat was re-shapped and re-covered in a period Two-four stylie... And back together.. Managed to source some 'spokes' which I had powdercoated to complete the look...
Looks mint I'm well impressed, those z's were bulletproof and a really good bike. Sent from my HTC One X using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
Thats the dogs mate, can i ask the spokes are they fitted to the original wheels or did you buy the wheels to fit the bike,I'm interested in fitting spoked wheels to the XJR but havnt a clue where to start looking
Thanks for the comments people... To answer a few questions..... Seat was done these people http://www.boundarycarcare.co.uk/ cost me £90 IIRC Spoked wheels!.. Was pretty lucky in as much as Kawasaki did a ltd edition model Zeph with spokes and managed to pick up a set from a breakers (allthough they were pretty rusty hence the powder coat (re-chrome and re-lace is very expensive)) I think your best option would be to try and source a set of spoked wheels from another model and adapt them/your bike to fit as I doubt your existing set of alloys could be converted - would be worth it though as spokes look SOooooo much better on Naked bikes. Sue... Quite a few of us are getting together next sunday here... http://www.northwest...june-10th-vjmc/ Lots of shiney bling old metal around....... and a few nice bikes as well
just for reference i've got the number of a guy who does wheels for £60 including new spokes!! getting my navigator ones done at the end of the month.
