I'm about to do the oil and filter on my 2003 CBR600RR and would like to know which oil I should use.

I've read the fully synthetic oil is the best to go for!? Is this correct? why?

Any recommendations as to which brand etc?

    Thanks.

I always use a semi synth 10w40 Rock oil, made in (Warrington) it's never let me down.

What does your owners manual say Chris?,

Sometimes you have to be carefull with fully synthetic oils as they can contaminate the plates in your clutch and cause clutch slip.

    :D

I use Tru Blu with my oil,The gearbox on the XJR is a clunky sod also XJR's have a inherent tapping from the nearside cam Tru Blu has all but cured this

10W-40 Semi Synthetic motorcycle oil for a CBR. I use Castrol, but I don't think the brand matters that much so long as you remember what it is if you ever top up between changes.

Some do work, and some make the clutch slip, I had that oil in my bike and it worked fine, you can try it and you will soon know if it has a slippy clutch

Looks like it's for a car that mate, don't put it in. It should say motorcycle oil on the container 10w40 car oil and 10w40 bike oil are 2 completely differant things mate. :)

You just change the oil, you got to remember there both basicly the same oil, some car oils put something in that make the clutch slip, but not all oils have this added to it
