I've heard of the level indicator window thing sometimes being so dirty it gives a false reading, maybe you might need to clean it a bit next time
Yep, as I thought. Start with the simplest items first. This lot would've coaxed you into having the bottom end in pieces! lol
Its all a learning curve init, hopefully in years to come i'll be able to advise others on how to fix their bikes
I remember my cbr had coolant issue if i rode it it never overheated.leave it ticking over for 10 mins and that needle shot up but mine was down to faulty fan switch. I know it's a diff issue but enough cold air can hit the bike to stop it overheating still cleaning overspray
Check the manufacturer spec for the coolant. Some systems need flushing before putting a different type in. It's not just a coolant, it also stops corrosion in the engine so they should be changed at the recommended intervals like brake fluid and oil.
hm having it stood upright instead of on its side stand makes a difference too remember ....... just like on your clutch and brake reservoirs ??
Yea it's all learning. On my old zx6 I noticed it was low... Non in the back up tank(the one in ur picture) checked rad that was full. So naught some topped it all up went for a long spin checkered it was all good. Next day I went for a proper ride. Pulled up outside a shopping centre in MK and my Bike threw up.... And there was no more rad fluid in reserve tank so checked rad that was fine never touched it since haha. U will no of there is a prob...
Be cautious filling to maximum level on a cold engine. When it gets hot it may overflow out the overflow tube and ending up on rear wheel, not recommended !! Veer towards minimum with cold coolant.. Some bikes have ridiculously small expansion tanks.
The bastards haha it does happen all to easily though, needed remove a few dents in my fiesta a few years back and look what happened; So called friends and peer pressure haha You bike look nice and clean mate, hope to see you out in it soon
