I head to mold, from mold to ruthin then from there i go through nant-y-garth amd follow the signs for llangollen once im through. in fact I prefer the nant-y-garth road to the horseshoe pass itself haha. I rarely stop at the ponderosa. normally go right over the pass then down to Betws y Coed.
did you get there mike ? as above the food is not the best ....but you go for the surrounding roads ,,its only ten mins form the rhugg max....beware of the unmarked and marked cops round this area though
