Meet around 6. Back roads over to Lymm, over the toll bridge and up the A49 and on to the E. Lancs.
Recall they have Bar B Q, so can eat there. Straight back on the Lancs into Manchester.

 

i think you will find after the last ride there and everyone getting pulled people will not want to go...
why not do one to the norcott chippy next to the raven it seams to be a hit......

 

I know it has been a nicking black spot for years. Never used to have a problem as we would tone the progress right down arriving and leaving like any high profile biker meet. Have things changed? What were folk getting done for?

 

i'm told the locals what it shut down ...so the police presents is to put people off going ..

 

The last few times I've been there's either been a high police presence, or nothing at all. Bit odd really. Wasn't it the first Weds after mine & Martin's accident when loads of people were getting pulled? I realise I could be utterly wrong on that - I was reading the forum that week but was also off my face on morphine and ketamine...... I just wonder if they were retaliating a bit.

Nobody local wants the piper shut down I should know as live 2 mins away! It's more police with nothing better to do on a Wednesday night so stick by the piper waiting for something to happen! Most of the week you will always see police around the piper or on other back roads nearby also don't forget the station is only 5 mins away from the piper! My advice is when u get anywhere near downholland or maghull slow down and ride safe

 

Either way, I'm up for a ride tomorrow night.

Been pulled once at the scotch but that was only for a spot check.

Take it easy on approach and you should have no problems.

They can!

It's not the Cops being arsey, there's a bit more to it than that.

Policing is done in the UK by consent. That's why they have these public meetings where the public can air their grievances and Plod address these points.

There's a few on Lydiate Parish Council who don't like bikes and the meeting at the Scotch.

They go to these public meetings and complain. No one else does, so the Only side of the story they get is from the anti-bike brigade.

If you want to get back at the system, go to the public meetings and put your point across that the Police resources would be better used elsewhere.

It's dead easy to say it's all down to Plod and the usual crap of how they should be out catching Burglars etc, but they're acting on what the public want.

Until they get told what other members of the Public want, nothing will change.
