Not everyones cup of tea but taking the missus out on the bike tomorrow for the first time properly (only been Southport and back once before)

Thinking of going Betws-y-Coed from Liverpool easiest route A41 - A5. Staying around an hour or so then heading back. Would be ideal for any new riders to get out on a long ride without having to worry about losing sight of the leaders etc. Well within speed limits and taking it easy on the bends. As i say its her first ever experience on the back so im not going to scare her away by riding like a fool.

If anyone wants to join us you are more than welcome. can meet at Liverpool Museum approx 10 - 10:30am

As i say this WILL be a slow ride so its probs not for the road racers among us :)

nice one Bob…hope she enjoys it…if you ride as smooth as poss , not late braking and harsh acceleration esp when changing gear, This avoids helmet mating!. I'm pretty sure she will be hooked…id advise her to wear ear plugs, a pillion will get the full deibels of your pipe

    Have a great time

i would love to Bob, but i'm working then.
However having ventured out to the wirral, its not out of the realms of a possibility in the future. :)
And I'm so glad you added a 'slow ride'. That's good to hear to me.
So I will keep an eye out for that time I can join in, well done. :)

I do try and cater for everyone matey most will know when i go out i prefer to hang back with the slower riders and just enjoy the ride rather than trying to keep up and worrying about coming off on every bend

Was a good day out. Took the A41-A483-A5 going to Betws-y-Coed. Walked round the shops a little and sat by the river watching the waterfall. Headed back up the A5 and got a Bison Burger from Rhug then just took the A494 all the way back onto the A41 again. She loved it :) only thing that bothered her was the distance. She was getting cramp and a sore bum. Definitely need to start looking at a more pillion friendy bike maybe the Vfr800 or maybe a big adventure bike like a GS or a Versys

nice one bob …i did think for a first time Pillion you may have tried to get to far away places too soon …treat her like a virgin again !!! break her in gently ..glad you had a nice day out … and good thinking adding shops to the equation ..anything with Handbags and shoes will score you brownie points

VFR's a good bike for short distance pillion, but my missus said that the trip to Blackpool really hurt her. The seat was very uncomfortable at the back. The Thundercat was much comfier

Used to have a GSXR 1100 many years ago on which me and my good lady covered many a mile. No complaints regarding comfort from her.
