I've bought my lad a 140cc pitbike for his birthday plus he sold his old one and put the money towards it , the bike came on a crate so the was a bit of assembly needed and valve clearance needed setting, I've done all the bits required on the PDI sheet and got the bike running all is good
but it's so hard to kick it's unreal so much so am sure he won't be able to start the thing
will it loosen up ?, his old bike (125) was really easy to kick but I have to use all my weight to jump in the thing to kick it

something sounds not right, have you set the valve clearance proper? has it sounds like there is too much compression perhaps the valves are staying shut when they should be open ect. i'm not a mechanic its just a guess;)

I adjusted as per the PDI sheet, when it's running it ticks over fine and revs freely , but your right it feels like there is too much compression

As above re- valve clearances, or does/should it have a decompression lever?.

aargh just done some research the settings they give in the manual are correct in imperial but when converted into metric they are all wrong , I am using metric feeler gauges:mad:
this is making the settings I set them far to loose , I suspect this is probably the problem il re do them tomorrow
