Any of you guys rolling around in newish vans delivery, long distance, etc. If plans work out I will be in the market for some new wheels, lease or lease finance. A few of you have seen my current battered but not dead VW lt35 which TBH is a great van but will not be up to scratch for the new venture. I'm gonna be looking for a LWB high roof. Transits are not an option. So looking at Merc CD313/316 or LT great motor especially the 165bhp good fuel economy, nice standard features, draw backs sides slope quite steeply, highish floor and limited payload. Movano nice 125 or 150bhp, used to have a Master so driving position is good, has a good list of standard features. Advantages lower load height, more up right sides, very good payload. Disadvantages, turning circle, wheel base. As I'm likely to be lugging 600ish Kgs around all the time and needing some room for the bike for track days the Movano is looking favourite with it's heavier payload and more favourable prices. Anyone had any experience with the Citreon/Peugeot vans?
Hi Bud , my job entails driving company fleet vehicles , like for like on vehicle swaps for accident damaged vehicles ... we have quite a few Citroen Relay vans which to be honest are an absolute joy to drive , comfort , space , ease of handling and fuel , not underpowered.. they have a new relay I see but our firm have not acquired any yet maybe soon ... I have not heard anyone speak badly about the relay van it has an absolutely cavernous luggage space but everyone to their own ... I would definitely have a look at one see what you think.
stay away from anything French we have new masters and traffics in work and they spend more time in the garage than on the road, my personal would be merc sprinter they go for ever however if you set on mavano don't go and buy the master but same van however movano depreciate quicker and tend to have more issues especially with wiring loom
How about a nice transi . . . . . . ah Seriously though, new customs are funky and great to drive compared to the old Mk7 I got a custom sport, 155ps, leather and more toys and gadgets than you would believe for a van. it may be the old 2.2 donkey but with refined (and fixed) injection system its far quieter and smoother and hopefully will see over 100k before the injection problems show their head.
When it grows up to s full size van with decent head room and a 3.5m+ load bed I might consider one, oh hang on no I wouldn't. The new Transit is even worse, Mr Ford: Hello Mr Iveco, can you design us a van. Mr Iveco: I've got just the shite heap for you.
lol very true, the new custom is smaller in the cab, in the back and just about everywhere than my old Mk7 that said it does drive like a car and it ticks my box nicely
