So at half 1 last night we were awoken by a hell of a crash outside out house followed by a constant horn ... turned out an insured car had crashed into our parked car and managed to flip his tiny 4 wheeled tonker toy .. now I'm not the worlds best driver, but I'm pretty sure i could miss a parked f**king CAR. idiots, I'll pay for the damage eh?

My dad's old 3 series got taken out by a stolen transit when I was younger. If I remember rightly he was paid out by the motor insurance beaurau.
Some dick did the same to our neighbors car on a main road - kids thrown out of the car but luckily no deaths - next doors car was written off but it was all taken out of his fully comp insurance with the company saying there was no recovery of cost as the driver wasn't insured ...end of - lost some NCB too - it was an old car too so after they took off excess and a shitty valuation he got about £300 - he was in bed at the time it happened and basically got f*ck all - his other half works for a major insurer and that was all they could get. 2 parties that will take you for everything : Uninsured dickheads Insurance companies ...the house always wins....

Been in work all day so haven't started chasing it up yet. From what I remember though our insurance policy doesn't cover uninsured drivers. Piss take, but on the up side it wasn't the bike that was hit so
Facking hell! Thats a right raw deal. The consequences for an uninsured- no license and pissed driver are just laughable these days, makes us people who buy insurance look like mugs. So I do hope he's lopped an arm/foot off in this, that's about the right level of Karma for writing your car off IMHO
There should be a written in clause that states if un-insured and they have an accident, the hurt party can legally shoot their nuts off in public? I think this would go some way to compensating them and might be a serious enough deterrent.
