OK on the ride out yesterday had the occasional rear end spin out but put this down to road surface, weather conditions etc. It became more apparent after we left the carousel and was heading down the 570, straight line 50-60 give some beans result slip sliding away. Also if I notched it down a gear without matching the revs or trailing the rear brake it locked and slid at nothing, not very confidence inspiring. Tyres are OE spec D252's and after a bit of web research found this a common trait on FZ's. Any body recommend some decent all round rubber for everyday use in all weather. Not looking break any lap records or anything just to give me a little more confidence in the wet.
Cheers guys, mixed bag there. Pilot 3's are top of the budget but don't want to skrimp, was looking at Storms 3D Ultras will have to see what deals are about. Any views on the Pirelli Angel GT's ?
Angels are rated highly on the SV forum but are quite a hard compound so not to great if you enjoy getting abit "spirited".
The back of my sv spun and slipped on the rainford bypass m8 if that's where your on about...if it is it could be just something on the road Sent from...brads.pad

Was funny watching Scottie trying to light his pilot road 3 up at martins crash site and it would not let go. He gave up in the end
your tyre would have to be more or less bald to spin like your saying ....if you were just riding normal and not giving it big handfuls, surely when looking at the rear tread you can see ...hmmm.."thats knackered time for a new one?" the slippiest part of ANY road is just as it starts raining after a long dry spell, exaclty what happened yesterday . in previous weeks millions of tyres have been on the road surfaces and have "polished" them, so as soon as the rain arrives ,it wont sink into the surface it will lay on the top like a "soup" , making this time of day dangerous. When we ride in europe, its the same. we actually pull over for 20 mins ,let the rain soak into the surface as opposed to flowing on top of it. You can tell by looking if your tyre is knackered. Which One ??? ....well if the front is still good for a few thousand miles id get the matching back...if you start mixing tyres you are asking for more problems wet and dry . Glad you got hime safe
Pair of road 3's £210 flea bay, is this the zip tie method? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MICHELIN-...6740&&clkid=361886201229801007&_qi=RTM1178012
time to change ...............if you have ridden the OE ones with confidence and had good mileage and no scares etc .....the answer lies within
