Ferry out: Liverpool - Douglas - Wednesday 30th May @ 2am Ferry back: Douglas - Liverpool - Saturday 9th June @ 10am So we're there for the same, 10 nights, but renting a house this time. Think we've got 1 just off Bray which is perfect for us. Cant wait .... just get christmas & new year over with & then on the proper countdown !!
All depends what you want from your stay ..... if you want the night life after the racing, then fairly close to Douglas, think the main NWB boys stayed in the football/rugby pitch this year. There's load of places to stay all over the circuit, a mate of mine camps at Ballaugh, he says that's a nice place to camp, 2 min walk to the pub & bridge for those days where it's best not to ride due to hangovers from the night before. Camping's ok if the weathers good .... if not can turn into a bit of a mud fest otherwise !!
Ok well I've just made a decision and I'm gonna be watching the TT at home this year as I can't do everything and I've all ready planned a ring trip and the Beastrun is gonna be massive this year as we're heading to Mugelo. Hope you all have a ball everyone
i fancy it but never been before..any advice or tips welcome..wouldnt mind bunkin into a small group . or goin solo
Go as fast as possible over the mountain without falling off, as many times as possible, drink beer, watch the shows in Ramsey and Douglas then if you can find the time watch the racing happy days
I'm hoping for a few of the Nwb members to be up to speed in time for the iom ? It's the fastest road riding any of you will ever do make the most of it ! . It's the perfect place to have a proper go at thrashing your bike two weeks of a public track day racing everyone around you I'll be aiming for a mountain run under 5 minutes this year I'll be at the base of the mountain every morning at 6 am ready for a flying lession I'll catch you over in the iom
i think i'll be aiming at 7 day's and will be at the base about dinner time but still will be there 6 days later leatherd
First of all, you will love it and more than likely become addicted. Douglas is the liveliest place to stay followed by Ramsey. Douglas has Bushys beer tent and live entertainment on for the TT, stunt shows, freestyle etc. also the main grandstand is there with loads of stalls and eating places behind it. Make sure you take a cheap AM pocket radio to listen to the commentary, Manx radio sell a dedicated over-the-ear type again, behind the grandstand and usually on the ferry. Build up your speed gradually, you can easily be doing twice your normal "fast" speed and corners come up VERY quickly, it takes a while for your brain to adjust. There are hundreds of viewing points which have been covered on here before, but if you can't find it, just say, and I am sure everyone will post up their favourites.
